Thanks for creating this class site Debbie, and good to hear you are a cancer survivor. Was nice to talk to you on the phone the other day from Kitty's office. Hope to see many of our classmates at the reunion, 35 years! Would make some folks sore, of being old, but not the class of seventy-four. :)

Debbie, and Kathy, I just want you to know how much I appreciate all of the work you have done on this website. I have had several people in other classes say that they wish their classmates would do something like this. I love reading the profiles, just to catch up on everyone. Steve Moody and Jimmy Speidel's were so interesting, along with your's Debbie (Holland Phillips), Debbye Williams Boyce, Kitty's, and Teresa Rowell O'Loughlin's. You guys look so young!!!! I hope I'm not the only one who has aches and pains in the morning when I get up!!!Come to think of it, it happens at night, too. Ok, fess up everyone...your bones pop too when you walk, right? Looking forward to seeing you all...Vicky (Alston)Fairey

Thanks for all your time creating this site. I'm guilty at first glace of giving Wayne Smith the credit....I should have know only girls would go to the trouble. I mentioned to my husband the 35th reunion at lunch today but told him I didn't plan to attend since I'd just been in C'ville. He pointed out that the class of '74 reunion would be in 09 NOT this year. So, upon closer inspection I see your math is correct and it is NEXT September. Alas, with a year's notice, I should be able to squeeze it into my schedule. Thanks again for all your work and we'll plan to be there in Sept. 09. Cyndy Fowlkes Shaw

Hello to everyone...just a note to tell you all that I FINALLY have my surgery date. Tuesday, Aug. 19th, I will be having my second total hip replacement. Actually, I am SO ready...it's not fun being in severe pain every step. Anyway, I'm having it at St. Francis Hospital in Cape at 1:00 p.m. and will be there 3-4 days, then home and I will be having intensive physical therapy for quite a while. Please keep me in your prayers, and when I get through with this, I'm going to be the bionic woman!!!!Might as well laugh, but really I am thankful that it's fixable...Vicky Alston Fairey

This is Vicky Alston Fairey's daughter Kim. My mom had surgery 8/19/08 and had some mild complications. The drill bit got stuck in her thigh bone when making the hole for the prostetic to sit in. They tried to get it out by reversing the bit and by hammering it out to no avail. Finally they had to saw a 3cm slit in her thigh bone to get it out. In the surgeons career this has only happen once twenty years ago. On Friday her blood count was low and had to recieve 2 blood tranfusions. She got to come home Saturday night and is doing well now. She's is in pain and being taken care of by her 6 year old granddaughter who thinks she's hot stuff being a nurse. But for the real care, me, my dad, nurses and therapist are taking care of her. Please keep her in yourthoughts and prayers while she recovers. If you want to send her an e-mail, me or my dad will be checking it for her often.

Hi to everyone....thanks so much for your emails, and especially your prayers. This is my first day to sit at the computer. As you know, I had some complications that I didn't plan on!!!!!I am home, but in quite a lot of pain. I have nurses and physical therapists coming to the house a few times weekly. The hip replacement was bad enough, but I have a fractured thigh acquired in surgery, so the therapy and recovery time have changed somewhat. I am very thankful however to have a fixable problem and thankful to have good friends and a loving family and church who are all so good to me. I love you all....email me....I'm not going anywhere for 6 weeks!!!! Love, Vicky

What a great holiday I had. David and I meet our middle son at the Lake of Ozarks with our granddaughter and oldest grandson. We mini golf and miss Halle made 3 hole's in one, then there were the bumper cars that we had all to ourselves, bumper boats (got very wet) but last Halle and I were in a gocart race against Son Josh and Grandson Christian. Josh won but we had the time of our lives. Children keep you young and at our age you do thing that you don't care if you look crazy. Hope you all had a geat holiday. Kitty

Debbie, this website is great. I wish I had known about it sooner. I went a little overboard on my profile. I did it before I read the others. I didn't fill in the school story part, there were too many to mention. This has really brought back some memories and I hope to get to email some of you soon. Vicki

Vicki Jones (Bradsher),

After reading your profile, I cannot believe how much we have in common. First of all, the last name is "similar". I sent you a message. Send me a message some time, ok?

Vicky Alston (Fairey),

I hope you are doing well during your recovery!

Debbie Holland (Phillips),

You have done a wonderful job with this site! Thank you so much for all of your prayers! God is awesome and He gets me through every tough time, which is about every day. He is my Comforter and Strength! :)

Gwen Kimbrell Darnell's son in law has been in an accident and is paralyzed basically from the neck down. He is in Physical Therapy with the hope of being able to walk again. Let's keep Gwen and family in our thoughts and prayers.

Vicky Alston Fairey was at the meeting Saturday and looks great after her recent surgery. We were so glad she was able to make it.

Kathy Barnes Gillum was also at the meeting Saturday and seems to be recovering nicely after her surgery for carpal tunnel.

Debbie, Kathy, Kitty and all the committee Ladies,

Thanks so much for working on the reunion and this page. I guess that's about all you will get from the "boys" right now, but I never have been a believer in large committees, they don't seem to get much done. Anyway, you ladies seem to have it all in control, doing a great job, and I for one do appreciate your efforts. I will keep in touch and try not to get "lost" again.

Vicki, glad you are recovering well, I had a hard time after my second surgery, but it finally got better. Try not to enter a marathon just yet, need time to heal and get that new joint all lubed up and percolating just right. Take care and I will be thinking of you during my 12 weeks of cardio rehab. At least it is not two-a-days! :) sbm

I'm sorry. I don't know who Virgie is.

Vicky Alston (Fairey)

Virgie is Ronnie Warren's wife. She has cancer(leukemia) and has had a long and hard fought battle including a bone marrow transplant in St. Louis. She has a website and she herself put a message on it about 2 weeks ago that the doctors told her that they have done all they can do. She is home now, and very weak. Please keep her and Ronnie in your prayers. She is a very sweet, Christian lady and says that it is in God's hands. She is such an inspiration to a lot of people including me.....Vicky Alston Fairey
