07/08/09 02:09 PM #299     Donna House (Brooks) Mike and I have a new grandchild. Jennifer had a girl on May 29. Candace Nicole Alley, she weighed 6 lbs. 4oz. She is so cute. I'll try to get pictures of her on soon. Karen my sister is a grandmother also. Her daughter Kimberly had a little boy June 22. He weighed 10lbs 13 oz. Needless to say he looks older than Candace. His name is Wyatt William Sullivan. Karen and I had daughters exactly one month apart. Kim was born on Sept. 2, Catherine was born on October 24. Kinda strange isn't it? Now our girls have a child so close together. I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. I have to say that you all have done a wonderful job with this web site.

07/08/09 10:09 PM #302     Wayne Smith I know I'm way late, but here's ten things about me: 1) I swam across the Mississippi River without a life jacket when I was 15 years old. 2) Karen and I have been married 33 years. 3) I still occasionally buy and read comic books. (I've been in Nirvana the last few years with all of the great superhero movies that have come out!) 4) I'm the Information Technologies manager and a member of the Executive Committee at the Lady Luck Casino in Caruthersville. 5) I served a number of years on the Caruthersville City Council and am currently a member of the Caruthersville Park Board where I have served for about 10 years. 6) I once attended a private party in Memphis at which Ringo Starr and an MTV film crew were in attendance. 7) After the tornado struck my house, I've discovered that I can be quite handy. Youu couldn't afford to pay me by the hour, but I can eventually get it done. 8) Though I'm not a big gambler, I love to go to Las Vegas. I went through a period where I really wanted to move there. 9) I invented a casino table game called Gold Card Roulette. 10) I never stopped listening to new music. Of course, I still love Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, etc., but I currently like listening to bands like Seether, Linkin Park and Green Day.

Life's Lessons: 1)Sweat the small stuff because, eventually, it all turns into small stuff. Besides, there's not enough sweat to cover the big stuff, so why bother. :) 2)If you always speak kind words to and about everyone you meet, you may just feel that kindness coming back ten-fold . . . We went there on Halloween one year and saw Jimmy Buffett in concert. That is about as wild as my tastes get. Debra, thanks for your lessons. So glad to hear from you both. This forum is for chatting and things like this. Can't wait to see you, Wayne, and Debra, I am STILL holding out hope that you might show up at the reunion! Has anyone had any contact with Gwen Kimbrell? I mailed her a letter because all her emails bounce back. Can anyone get in touch with her to see what is going on and if she plans on coming to the reunion? Have a good day!

I've considered buying a vacation home there, the only problem is flying 5 hrs. when I want to go. The Poconos & Catskills are both less than a 2 hr. drive! Kathy. Happy Belated Birthday!!! I'm on the road, periodically checking my e-mail. Debra, thanks for the kind comments. I have been very busy. That's why I am in Maui now; recharging and rejuvenating my soul. Life Lesson: Those of us that appear to be strongest, are often the most fragile of human beings. I learned a real lesson of true compassion last August when my best friend (34 years) and classmate from the Univ. of Mich. died of bone marrow cancer.

I chose Shepard Smith. He is conservative, a hunk, intelligent and has a sexy voice. Several other people chose him, too. Wonder who? Two people want to be alone! Now doesn't that peak your interest a little? I just think it is so interesting and hope you all participate and answer honestly. One of those things that makes you go, hmmmmm. Unfortunately, I don't have any way of knowing who answers what. Have a great day and an even better week end!
