I agree. I think she did an awesome job. Good call!

I have enjoyed looking at the pics too. It was such a special time and one I'll always remember. I enjoyed working with the committee, it was like we picked up where we left off 35 yrs ago. Just sad it's over. We do need to stay in touch, it means so much.

I agree. We all worked so closely together and really got along, I think. I hope we can all keep in touch.

Hello everyone. I really miss you all. The reunion was just so nice. Committee members, thank you again, for making everything so special. Everyone of you did an outstanding job.

Awesome committee! They really gave it their all. As they put it in the card they gave me, we are committee sisters. Steve Moody wants to be on the committee in 5 years. He will be an honorary sister!

I've heard so many wonderful comments...and I think we had a reunion to be proud of...very nice, elegant, wonderful feelings from everyone, and a closeness like I've never felt before...maybe as we're getting older, we realize just how much we were a big part of each other's lives, and that it was great to grow up in a small town????

09/12/09 07:56 PM #404

Steve Moody

Have been reading all the comments about the reunion, and I agree with everything said, just wish it could have been longer. I wasn't feeling too well due to the surgery and the pain killers, and I've been sick since I got back, only went to work one day this week. The important thing to remember is ...I'd do it again in a heartbeat. There just wasn't enough time to get to talk to everyone.

Now, just what does an "honorary committee sister" include? I've always wondered about all those secrets you girls had so many of...:) sbm

Well, if your rotator cuff is back to normal it would include lifting stuff for us, moving furniture, cooking for us, waiting on us hand and foot...wouldn't most of you girls agree with me?

Steve, please keep us posted on how you are feeling. We hope your pain goes away and your rotator cuff heals nicely. You are in my prayers.

I would love for us to get together sooner than 5 years. We had such a good time and it doesn't have to be anything quite as nice just as long as we "get together."
Steve, I agree with Debbie on the part about waiting on us hand and foot.

09/13/09 06:10 PM #407

Kathy Barnes (Gillum)

Yes, Steve, we need a man who can wait on us and come run at our beck and call. We'd love to have you join us.
Get well soon, your are in my prayers for a quick and complete healing.

Jane Hutchison (Cooper)

My husband, Rick, and I were discussing your current ideas of getting together again in an informal setting. He said we should each show up with our own thermos of coffee and sit at tables and talk. I had to laugh at that. (He thinks we women need coffee to sit at tables and talk??! lol) Then I said we should sit at tables with timers and go around the room like in speed dating. That way everyone gets to see and talk to and hear from everyone who shows up! Ooh, ooh, and we could have it all video taped to send the others who can't be there...or sadly, to help us all remember what was said when we get home. LOL

(I want to put it out there that I have never done speed dating. Rick says, "Me neither!")

Kathy Barnes (Gillum)

Jane I like the idea of rotating to each table but being timed?? I think I would get frustrated having to leave in the middle of a conversation but then how would we ever get to everyone if we didn't limit it somehow.
I do agree that we need a time to just be able to sit around and talk.
I miss you all so much.

Speed class reunion-ing. What an interesting concept. Keep sending in those ideas, folks!

09/15/09 08:21 AM #411

Jane Hutchison (Cooper)

I do hope you know I was joking!??...
Besides, "timed table talk" would be more in line. We could keep doing it till we dropped out, or just dropped.
Rick only mentioned bringing coffee for endurance, and to help some of us stay awake and listen long after our(some)voices gave out! The videotape idea would be a bust, too. If you didn't show up, we would be forced to talk about you!lol

I miss you all.

That's how we'll get everyone to show up, threaten to talk about them if they don't. ha ha
Just send out the message, "If you won't come talk to us, we'll just talk about you" "It might be good and it might be .....?"

Thank you all so much. He is getting better but having a real headache with his work. He has a splint and crutches and we need to see an ortho specialist soon. He is confined to the upstairs. Pray his company acts with compassion.

I also have a dear, dear friend who took me to chemo many times and held my hand and brought food whose daughter (about 40 years old) was diagnosed with Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma. This is very bad. Her name is Cathy. Please pray for God's healing. My friend is devastated. She was so good to me during my cancer. Thank you so very much.

Debbie,

So sorry to hear about Steve. I will be lifting him up in prayer as well as your friend's daughter.

What ortho doctor will Steve be going to? Clarence Watridge is a good Christian doc from Semmes-Murphey.
