Claudine Prince Spevak

After high school I moved to Salt Lake and went to Darrell's Beauty School and worked as a telephone operator. Then I transfered back to Cedar and worked at the telephone company here. In 1964 I married John. In 1965 I got pregnant with our oldest child and got so sick I had to quit the phone company. John and I moved to Salt Lake in 1966 because he got a job with Garrett Freightlines. We lived there for 13 years and then moved to New Harmony. I stayed home with our children until our youngest was off to kindergarten and then I started working for the Iron County School District as a lunch cook. We moved to Cedar in 1984. I retired from school lunch after 24 years, in June of 2007. It has been fun to do what I want and not have to get up at the crack of dawn to go to work. I have a craft business that I run out of my home and have done for 20 years or more. It is enjoyable for me. John and I have 4-wheelers and enjoy riding them. We started in 2001 and I have put 4200 miles on my machine since then. We have seen lots of beautiful country that we wouldn't have otherwise seen, and met lots of nice people going on rides with them. We have eleven grandchildren. The oldest is 32 and the youngest is 9. They are great!! Now we have 2 great granddaughters that we adore.
