The following was taken from Blake's obituary:
Blake left this earth on July 31, 2005 to find solace in the arms of a loving Heavenly Father. He lost the struggle to overcome a major depressive disorder with which he had been troubled in his life.
He loved to attend school dances and the mother’s of his dates were free from worry when their daughters left on his arm-Blake was a true gentleman. He attended college in Salt Lake City and at SUU and was close to a degree in Economics and German.
Blake served in the Netherlands Mission for two years where he excelled at the Dutch language. His mission president remarked at the time that Blake had the greatest command of Dutch and Flemish of any of the missionaries who had ever served under him. He made special friends among the people he taught and was able to assist other missionaries in learning the language.
Blake had an even temperament, a friendly and caring attitude, and non-judgmental ways which endeared him to family and friends and all who came to know him. He was very sensitive to others and loved animals and children.

Blake was a friend to all who knew him. He seemed to have a smile and a kind word for everyone. He served as our Senior Class President and did a fantastic job! He was a great person and he is missed.Betty France (Chamberlain)
A recall running into Blake on the campus of SUU, we were in the library. We hadn't seen each other in years, we sat down and visited for awhile. Blake always had a calmness about him that made you feel at ease, he was a great friend to me and I will always remember his kindness. I enjoyed watching him play tennis, often in a battle against my brother Jim for the #1 singles position. What a good guy . . .Janey Rowberry (Johnson)
Its hard to believe hes gone. I always found him to be such a nice person. Its amazing how sometimes we take for granted to people in our lives. I think I'll cherish his birthday card he gave me in grade school.
