Daniel Tomlinson was born July 5, 1949, in Cedar Rapids. He was a graduate of Washington High School and attended one year at the University of Northern Iowa and two years at Marshalltown Junior College.

Stationed with the Navy in Maryland Dan burned to death in a fire on March 6, 1974.
