Cynthia Woods Mastain was born August 10, 1949, and was married to Gordon Mastain June 12, 1971, in Cedar Rapids. She is survived by her husband, a son Jeffery and two daughters Amy and Andrea.
Cynthia died on September 8, 1976 after a long battle with leukemia at the age of 27.

She was the greatest of friends. We lost contact when she got married and I moved away. She had been adopted and an only child. When I went home for a visit I tried to contact her. I talked with her mom and was told Cindy had died from leukemia. She has been greatly missed.

Dear, dear Dianna.
Yes, it was so sad when Cyndy died. I think she had just given birth to her 3rd child when her blood count came back right after her delivery showing she had leukemia. She and I both took our kids to St. Pauls pre-school. She and Mike lived right off of Mt. Vernon Rd and I lived on Memorial Dr. I could not bring myself to go to her funeral, but I did take a ham to Mike the next day. I used to run into the lovely Mrs. Woods periodically and inquired about the kids. It broke my heart. Take care my friend.
