James Clyde Dewald was born May 17, 1949, he married Carol Sparks on July 3, 1979. He was employed as a journeyman carpenter for Knutson Construction. James served in the Navy in the Vietnam War.  He was survived by his wife and daughter Melissa and sons Jason and Joshua.

He died September 18, 1979 after a long illness at the age of 30.
