Steve was one of my close friends in high school. Was so good to see him when he returned safely from Viet Nam where he had served as a medic. Steve went through a lot of tough shit in Nam, but never dwelled on it. We got into our fair share of trouble together stateside, both before and after. Steve assisted at the funeral home in Marion during his high school years. He had the low, low voice of an undertaker. Thought he would have been a good jazz DJ or funeral director someday. Unfortunately, he did not live long enough to see either come to fruition. I lost track of him after he moved to Colorado some years later. He is buried in a military cemetery there. RIP, my good friend Steve..

I wish I had been able to know Steve. I so admire his service in Viet Nam. God Bless You, Steve.
