Vera was like a sister to me, literally. Her brother Jim and I were in a band together during my sophmore year at Wash. Our band, the Road Agents, played at a mixer in the Wash gym in our 10th grade year. Other members were Paul Omstead, rhythm guitar, Craig Nunn, drummer, Jim Northrup, lead guitar, and me, the bass man. Vera and I stayed close over the years. I used to see her at the Christian book store she worked at of course, we stayed good friends forever. I miss Vera. She was a really good person and loved life. She had a mother hen personality and truly cared about every person she met. I can't wait to see her again in heaven!
