What do you say about someone you have know almost all your life?  Diane was the first person I met when we moved to Cedar Rapids in 1954.  She welcomed me to the neighborhood and made me feel like I had always been there.   We went to Polk, McKinley, and Washington together. Camp Fire Girls, Horizon Club, Church youth group, choirs at school and church, camps, volunteer work. Feeling all grown up going to the drugstore near Coe College for cherry cokes.  We were in each others weddings, celebrated our children and grandchildren, mourned together as our parents passed.  She was always cheerful, ready to help anyone, knowing when a  hug was needed.  Her smile lit up a room. She will be missed.

I remember Diane fondly from Polk School.  I feel fortunate to have seen her at the fiftieth reunion.  She was a gracious, kind person.  Clay

I also have fond memories of Diane. Sunday school, Polk school, McKinley, and Washington. Church choir and just living in close neighborhoods. Always a sweet, kind person. She was so involved in Scouts like her family and will be missed. Rest In Peace.

Just like Shirley, there are so many memories that we have shared, many of them centered around Central Park Presbyterian Church - from Sunday school classes, youth group, choir, camping retreats, a canoe trip to the boundary waters, and involvement with Troupe 5 Scouts with her Dad, Mr. B, Dick Beaty who was always helped by her Mom, Mrs. B, Bev Beaty. Diane was always a presence with her friendly laugh, comforting words and a gentle smile. She has left us too soon, she will be greatly missed. Best wishes to everyone. Peace be with you Diane.
