So sorry to hear this news. Our thoughts go to the family.
I remember him in school as being a decent and fun guy.

I met Mike in junior high when we played baseball for Franklin. He was our catcher and a really good ball player. A heck of a nice guy who was already friendly toward everyone. He never missed a reunion and it was always nice to touch base with him at those gatherings. He will be missed.
Patricia "Patty" Smith (Baer)
As Dan and Tom have said, Mike was such a great guy. His smile as well as his kindness seemed to permeate all he did. It is hard to imagine him gone. He will indeed be missed. My condolences to the family.

Sorry to hear that... can't say it any better than Patty or Dan.

Mike and I played baseball together. We always kidded each other about being "Riders of the Pine" since we were pictured together in the Yearbook doing just that. We met each other years later (in the 90's, doing some business together). During that time, Mike was hospitalized. I went to visit him at St. Lukes one day after lunch. Got to the right floor and asked at the nurses' station what room Mike was in. She looked at me and said "I'm sorry, Mike is not with us anymore." I was shocked and said, "OMG!! He died?!" The nurse chuckled and said "Oh no, nothing like that. He was discharged about an hour ago and went home." I couldn't wait to tell him the story later. We had a good laugh about it. He was a wonderful, honest, and friendly guy to know and be with. Rest in peace, Mike.

I was sorry to hear about Mike's passing. I played baseball with Mike at Franklin and he was a very good player. He was one of the nicest guys I had ever met, and he will be missed by all that knew him. He was always friendly to everyone and a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Mike many years after our graduation at Washington. My condolences go out to the family.

Thoughts and prayers to Mike's family and friends. Like several others, I met Mike through baseball at Wash. It was great to catch up with him at reunions and see he was the same person we all knew in school. I know he had some health issues over the years and they contributed to Mike leaving us too soon. RIP teammate.

May Mike's memory be forever eternal.
