Robert "Bob" King, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, May 28, 2021, at his home. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.

Bob was born on May 25, 1949, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Glenn and Jean (Haskins) King. In 1967, he graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Janice Norvette Dickson on July 12, 1997, in Cedar Rapids. Bob worked at Quaker Oats for 30 years until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, reading war books, and collecting Quaker Oats items. Bob was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Ebony (Adam) Luensman of Marion; grandchildren, Amira and Jacoby Luensman of Marion; brother, Richard "Dick" Glenn (Rochelle) King of Florida; and close family friend, Dan Berger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Jean King; wife, Janice King, in 2015; brothers, John and William King; and granddaughter, Angel Luensman.

From 7th grade all though high school and on. Bob, Norm Miller,Charlie Baldwin ,and myself, seemed to go everywhere together, Bob was there when my daughter was born, we drifted apart all went different ways but we caught up about 9 years ago, it was a great reunion. Robert you will be missed. God Bless you.

Bob had an immense interest in Mercury capsule stamps in junior high school. Walking past a postal sub-station on the way home, I supplied him regularly. He was an interesting guy and I liked him.
