Brownsville, Texas Martina Monika Ortiz, (McBryde) 68, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Martina, who was born in Germany, had been a resident of Brownsville for 45 years. She came to Brownsville after she married Ricardo M. Ortiz. Martina was a dedicated teacher for 30 years with the BISD. She touched the lives of many of our city's youth as an elementary bilingual teacher at Skinner Elem.

Martina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Martina was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
