Larry James Bean, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. 

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 12th at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 “J” Street S.W., with his niece, Carmen Provencher officiating.  Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel.

Larry is survived by a son, David Bean; siblings, Jerry (Vicki) Bean, Douglas Bean, Ronnie (Jean) Bean, Jimmy (Teri) Bean, Kathy Parrish, Gary Bean, Freddy Bean, Randy Bean and Charles Bean; sister-in-law, Sally Bean; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Bean; sister, Judy Joyce; brother-in-law, Gene Parrish; two nieces and one nephew.

Larry, one of twelve children, was born March 30, 1949 in Cedar Rapids to Richard and Marjorie (Bell) Bean.  He was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids and a graduate of Washington High School.  He was employed at Amana Refrigeration for over 20 years.

Larry participated in three bowling leagues, enjoyed going to car shows and attending family picnics.  He had done extensive family genealogical research and had been a Red Cross volunteer.

A memorial fund has been established.
