
RUTH ANN KELLEHER Cedar Rapids Ruth Ann Kelleher, 90, died peacefully at her home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Dec. 10, 2020, following a brief illness. Private family funeral services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. Burial will be at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Lansing, Iowa. The service will be livestreamed on Martin-Grau Funeral Home's facebook page starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Church, 857 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403; or to the charity of choice. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her dear husband, Karl F. Kelleher, who died May 4, 2000; her parents, Fred and Mabel (Doehler) Intlekofer; three brothers, James and wife Madalyn, Charles and Francis "Handy"; her sister, Mary Intlekofer; and five nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lucille Intlekofer of Seattle, Wash.; sister-in-law, Theresa Link and husband Tony of Waukon, Iowa; 24 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Ruth Ann Kelleher was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Waukon, Iowa. She married Karl F. Kelleher in Waukon on June 16, 1951. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Waukon, in 1947, and earned a B.A. degree in 1951 and an M.A. degree in 1960 from the University of Iowa. Ruth Ann taught high school business education courses for 40 years; the last 31 years were taught at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, a life member of Delta Phi Epsilon, Honorary Professional Graduate Society, University of Iowa Alumni Association and Iowa Business Association. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Cedar Rapids Area Retired School Personnel, Cedar Rapids Education Association, Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary and Brucemore Historic Society. Ruth Ann enjoyed volunteering, traveling and playing bridge. For many years, she was a volunteer usher for the Cedar Rapids Symphony and for Theatre Cedar Rapids. She and her husband traveled extensively both at home and abroad. Ruth Ann's nieces and nephews will serve as casketbearers.
