Occupation: Clinical social worker. Work with homeless.
Children: I have one son, Tim, who lives in Raleigh and is the director of the city's aquatic centers. Tim graduated More…from North Carolina State University in the field of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. He and his partner live near-by. Ashley teaches children with desabilities and is a dancer. She is entering graduate school this year to obtain her degree in special education.
Comments:

Earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill. Developed and managed 5 non-profit agencies during 25 years of work--Meals on Wheels, Hospice, AIDS Service Agency, Summit House--a residential treatment program for mothers and their children; Our Children's Place (a residential treatment program for inmate mothers and their children.) Established a private practice working with defense attorneys serving as the clinical social worker on legal teams. Formed wonderful friendships that enrich my life and have lasted 30 plus years. Spend time in my church.

School Story:

Flora Mae Watson sitting in the back of our plane geometry class and sending people to the board to prove examples. She put the fear of God into the students and it was truly amazing to see people shaking as they tried to explain an example.
