I must beg "equal time" to Carmen's post re: What does "D.K." mean/stand for? When the question was posed, I said to myself "I know that." but it took a bit before "DeWitt" appeared in my wondering brain and I registered that much with the Class Moderator Ed. "Kenneth" took longer (see Carmen's tale) and a bit longer to search and confirm (via Google and Meck Co. Government). My good students asked a question ... even in these latter days ... and I wanted to give them an answer!!! *Perseverance!* And, thank so many of you for your kind comments and remembrances!!! You were a great class of East Mecklenburg Eagles!!! ?? ?? ??

I can now definitely confirm that "D.K." stands for DeWitt Kenneth Pittman. (Re: Question posed by Ed Misle during reunion Quiz Bowl. :-)
