Mary Charles Steele Suther

Lived, worked and attended school (BS/MPH) in N.C., SC, Ga.,Va,Ten,Md., Il., Tex., Cal., Fl.,and La. Traveled 3-5 weeks/Yr. to 22 countries and am going to China in September and October of this year. I hope that these old bones will let me walk at least a few miles on the Great Wall. Raised two wonderful children who gave me 5 unbelievable grandchildren. I have been very blessed to have experienced the opportunities with which I have been presented. Three years ago I was reunited, through Facebook with a person with whom I lost contact in 1970 and since then we have found new meaning to our lives. (I moved from Texas).I still am involved in the International Friendship Force, serve on the National Assc. for Home Care and Hospice Board and the Board of the World Organization for Home Care and Hospice. I have not found a new volunteer opportunity in which to spend my time, but am working on finding a "fit". I would love to see my old friends from Harding.

The only time that I was ever called to Mr. Hawkins office was when Joyce and Joann Godfrey, a couple of other students and I decided to wear "blue jeans" to school when it snowed. I chickened out when I heard that some of the others had been called to the office and changed into my skirt, but was caught after someone gave all of the names to Mr. Hawkins. I do not think that I had or have ever been so afraid since.
