MARYVILLE - Edward Thomas Papson Jr. (“Tom” or “Tommy”), 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Maryville, TN on Monday, August 19, 2024 following a lengthy illness. Tom was born January 7, 1951 to Dorothea and Edward Thomas Papson Sr. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Tom graduated from City High School (class of 1969) and UT-Chattanooga
What a great guy! We did a lot of things together in junior high and continued a sweet friendship to City! Kind kind kind and that big smile. I know his family and such close friends are heart broken ! Reminder to reach out to each other often ! I am having lunch tomorrow with 3 City friends - Lucy Fox, Barbara Blanks and susan Scott . Never miss a chance to hug on each other !
I am saddened to hear of the passing of Tommy. I have known Tommy since the first grade at Normal Park through Northside and City. The last time I saw and talked to him was at our 40th class reunion. We reminisced over the years that we had known each other, and what we had been doing since graduation. It was really great. As time passes, we keep losing our classmates. I concur with Sheila; it's important to cherish the time we have with those we're still in touch with.. Tommy, you will be missed.
