I remember Sammy as a funny, witty, always friendly guy, who was almost always happy. I would not have guested Sammy would become a food franchise mogul. It is also interesting that he started a Corky's BBQ, I was always a big Corky's fan. I casually met Barry Pelts who founded Corky's once a long time ago. He like Sammy were both Vandy Alumni and were both very personable. Having lived in Memphis, Decatur, and Huntsville I have learned BBQ is a religion in some areas of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. I never saw Sammy after High School but I wish I had. he was one of the truly nice guys.
