Judith Ann Shipley
Judith Ann Shipley, lovingly known as “Judy” to those who knew her best, passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 77.
Judy was a devoted family member whose greatest joy in life was the time she spent with those she loved. She had a deep appreciation for music, often finding comfort and happiness in her favorite songs, and she cherished her trips to the beach, where she felt most at peace.
She dedicated 30 years of service to the Tennessee Valley Authority, where she built a long and respected career. Judy will be remembered for her warmth, her steady presence, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. To her nieces and nephews, she held a special place in their hearts as “JuJu,” a name that reflected the closeness and affection they shared.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mamie Shipley; her brothers, William and Charles Shipley; her sisters, Betty Masters and Jean Dupree; and her niece, Laura Taylor.
Judy is survived by her sister, Linda Bishop; her nieces, Elizabeth Brown and Charlene Dickinson; and her nephew, William Brown, along with many extended family members and loved ones who will cherish her memory.
The visitation for Judy will be held at Lane Funeral Home on Monday, April 6, from 12-2 p.m. The chapel service will begin at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
She will be missed dearly and remembered always for the love she gave and the lives she touched
