Phil Smith was my brother-in-law, Rodger Castleberry '61, best friend. I remember hearing about the "Bad Boys of Brainard" when I first met Rodger who had begun to date my older sister, Adele Geraghty Castleberry, Notre Dame. When those boys got together they could certainly tell tales that made people laugh for hours on end.
I think of them all with great fondness even though I was regrded as the pesky little sister.
