Clark,  today is the first day in at least 6 days that I could get into this message forum.. I received the emails stating that  messages were avaiable to read - but when I clicked on the individual - I was sent to a blank page. Glad to see that the website is working today.

Jerry - you are stirring the pot, and I agree with all that you say.  The welfare state that big government has created is all around us.  However the reality is that it is every man for himself.  I am leaning toward Trump - not that he appears too be "presidential"  - but at least he has the balls to call things as they are.

Time will tell if he shoots himself in the foot during the campaign.

The most important thing is to be able to survive on your own.  Have the ability to generate solar electricity with a few panels.  A way to heat your home with firewood in winter from the trees growing around your acerage ... and most important of all - have the skills and equipment to make beer or wine.  No need to get too upset - once you can live comfortably no matter who is misguiding the country.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at the reunion.  Last of all what is the status of the last bottle club.  Are we going to have reunion last bottle club whiskey tumblers or are we not?  Clark / Frank, I thought that we would have them available to purchase by now.  What kind of booze will we toast with - whatever Col Bill recommends will be OK with me.  Will we be at a few reserved tables for the Friday night dinner - so we can drink the toasts and get loud and obnoxious ...thus setting a proper example of how a reunion is conducted.   (Maybe the powers at be will put us in a separate room - like they did one year when they put about 50 of us in dorm rooms in Old Main so we wouldn't "taint the cadets".  I preferred the regular dorms because it was easier to get a motorcycle into and out of my room that way.)

Is there an agenda / itinerary listing event times and locations for the Reunion?  I'll be commuting, so I need to plan.

Also, to whom should I send the money for the Bell, etc. and how much?

Jerry,

Believe it or not but if you read your letter, you should sent money to Jim Lees and/or Me!  Ed

Morning Ed;

There was a subsequent letter from John Lynch / Clark Wonderland informing us not to do that because there was a special fund that was set up to accommodate those funds. What I am asking for is the address of that Special Fund, and an itemized breakdown of the contributions requested. Then I will mail a bag of money.

Best regards to all,

Jerry

Jerry,

The monies John  and Clark were talking about had to do with the expences of the party room at the Reunion and they had asked for $50.00, $25.00 for last year and $25.00 for this year.  Any question that you may have should be directed to Ed Carpenter. Ed was collecting the monies.

  As far as the Bell is concerned I will send you a copy of the original letter Jim and I sent out.  John and Clark have nothing to do with the Bell.  Jim Lees and I paid to have the bell made and asked our Classmates to join us with a contribution to help us off-sett that cost.  You should talk to Andy Patten and Bill Symolon or Ed Carpenter about the funding of the Bell.  John Lynch asked Jim and Me to join the commitee because we had a plan and had the Bell made in a Foundry in Maryland.  ED

Henry, Ed, and others,  I found a possible cup for the Last Bottle Club idea and sent one to John Lynch to take before the Reunion Committee.  He asked that we work thru them so as to keep a handle on where all the money contributions and payouts are going.  The cup I found is brass for only about $6, but the engraving takes it up to about $30.  The questions will be how much we want to pay and for how much engraving.  The shape of the cup requires hand crafted engraving, hence the high price tag.  The engraving I suggested was "PMC Class of 1966 on one side and individual names on the reverse.  As for what we drink in it, I'd say a premium Scotch or Bourbon depending on majority preferences.  I certainly will go for any libation.

Since the bottle will be on display, how about a bottle of Louis the Thirteenth. It comes wit a display case in a bottle of fine crystal.

  If we end up getting the cups, Louis the 13th sounds fine !

Things are looking better and better for our super reunion.

However, refresh me on the process.  As I understand it: (1) we will buy a bottle of the fancy crystal Louis 13th stuff and keep it on display at the musuem.   (2) During the Friday night dinner we will drink toasts of some regular booze using our personal "last man standing brass cups" (To the class of 1966, To our fallen classmates, and to others that come to mind) as we get into the spirit of things.  Is that the plan?  If the cups are in the museum, someone will have to pick them up and bring them to the dinner for us to use and collect them at the end of the dinner.

Whatever Col Bill and Clark decide on all of this is OK with me. Put together the amount that we owe and send it out in an email.  Then each of us will decide on how our name will appear and contact the vendor and send payment to get the cups rolling.

Last of all, what motel will the party room be in?  I don't recall owing money for it - so send an eamil out on that also.

I agree with Stan. An email detailing all payments due and voluntary contributions would be of great assstance, particularly if  it details by line item the following:

PRODUCT = Cups, Bell, Party Room, etc.

AMOUNT of $$$ required from each Individual to pay for that specific item

Address to which the $$$ should be sent for each item

Hery guys, since there are several people involved to get all the details, let me try to put it together in the next week .  We're having a Reunion Comittee meeting in March when all the details of the actual weekend will be worked out.  I will say that the only monies the comittee has aked for is a total of $50 dolars for the room, booze and to begin the "pot" for the weekend itself.  We're planning the hospitalty room and guest rooms for the Best Western Motel next to the college.  The school owns the hotel so they block it out for the reunion weekend, but we can't reserve rooms for our class, they're open to every Alum that weekend.  Several of us have made reservations already at the going rate (expensive, don't choke).  At some point in the near future the school will set a much better rate for Alumni.  The hotel told us that when that happens, they will switch us to that rate IF WE CALL THEM.  John Lynch has been on the Alumni office to get their act in gear but nothing yet. That's the best I can do for now.  If you plan to stay, call them NOW and make reservations.

Location: 1450 Providence Ave., Chester PA.

Phone:    610-872-8100

I'm excited that there is so much enthusiasm for the weekend already.  The biggest thing everyone can do right now is contact all the classmates you can and get them to commit to the reunion and to joining the site.  All the information for the weekend will be printed on the site as it's available.  Get on those other classmates.  I want to have so many comming that the school has to give us our own location on campus for OUR REUNION. Get on it guys.

I felt I needed to clarify regarding the $50.  Many already sent money to John Lynch, Ed Carpenter or me.  This is the same $50, so if you've already sent $50, your square.  If less than $50, the please send the difference to John, Ed or me. Everyone else, it's $50.

As to the "Bell" fund is separate. That's being handled by Ed and his team. They are asking for &25.

The "Last Classmate Standing", Bill has sent a message about that.

Anything else will be coming out from the Reunion Comittee.

Clear as mud right.  If you have questions, call me (330) 653-3911 or my cell (330) 703-4710. " Get Ed done"

Morning Clark;

Make the check out to you individually, or is there a '66 Reunion Fund that it should be made out to??

Collecting money for "pot" is good thinking on your part for those of us on a diet who don't want to consume those booze calories. Since for the time being it's still illegal in Pa., may be a good idea to put in a big bowl in the middle of the room, close all the doors, lite it up, and everyone breath heavily. If the Authorities enter, we'll tell them it's incense - it's a Buddhist and South East Asian thing !!

Hey Gents,

   Lots of info in the last several exchanges.  John Lynch will take the Last Bottle Club proposal to the committee meeting.  He wanted monies funneled thru them.  If we go with the Brass Cups and can store them at the museum that would be great.  If not, classmates could take their cups home and bring them to future reunions that they can attend.  We've had a good turnout from our class at the last several reunions.  As far as the Louis the 13th....I will offer to buy the first bottle and bring it to our Reunion.  If the museum will store in (in a suitable display case) I will leave it with them.  If not, I will bring it home and return it the following year.  Should I happen to drink it up in between (as my good friend, Clark, snidely suggested) I will agree to replace the bottle.  I will also offer the same agreement to any of our famous reprobates who would like to chime in.  In the end, the only thing that matters is that we ALL Show UP.

Semper Fi,  Bill

Everyone, any contributions should be made to the "PMC Class of 1966 Reunion Fund" and sent to John Lynch, Ed Carpenter or me.

At our Reunion Committee meeting in March we'll lay out the weekend agenda and cost.

As Bill has stated, he and the committee will lay out thy plan for "The Last Man Standing" cups. Cost will be determined and then collected thru the Reunion Fund.  John or I will talk to the Museum Committee about storage and procedures.

Ed, please comment on the process for donations for the "Bell".  I believe that will also go thru the reunion did. I know the bell has been commissioned already.  For those of us who forget things, the bell is to commemorate the successful "mission" undertaken by OUR class to "borrow" the Merchant Marine Academy's bell before our Boardwalk Bowl. OUR classmates were the ONLY ones to successfully accomplish this.

Jerry and Clark,

To answer your questions regarding "The Bell", To date we need 84 Classmates to give the the lowest

amount just to break even.  Currently, many of the Classmates that gave, several gave two separate checks to help us.  In mid Feburary we will post the names of the Classmates that have supported the Project.  Everyone received a letter regarding the Project in July of 2015, if you don't know what it said you can call one of the Classmates whoes name will appear in Feburary, or Clark, or Bill, or Tom, or Andy, or Mike, they supported the Project.  It is a disappointment to spend the time and effort on a Project this envolved and people don't even respond.  Jim is having some Medical problems, so if you think about, please send him a short note  just to say get well.

Okay everyone keep your eyes peeled and check the "HOME PAGE".   PAY ATTENTION I'll be posting a copy of the Agenda for the Reunioin Weekend.  There may be some additions or adjustments as we get closer to the actual date, but this is pretty close.

As to costs, the only cost to date is the $40 to the "PMC Class of '66 Reunion Fund" to cover the Hospitality Suite and the Booze for the suite.  I screwed up (again) and said it was $50, but I was wrong, it's $40.  We can't set other prices until we hear from the school as to what they will contribute or pay for.  When we have that we'll post a detailed/itemized list.

As to the Hotel, John Lynch has been calling the school and Hotel to set the price.  Well, they finally set a price of $99 per room this week.  So call and make your reservations NOW.  Those of you who already made your reservations, CALL them NOW and make sure they change your rate.

See you all there!!!  We are the GOLDEN Anniversary Class.

Hey Guys,   May be some confusion with the room rates....I made my reservations months ago and the rate was $119 per night.  (Normal rate quoted as $169).  I just called about the $99 price and was told that is not correct.  So, just letting you know "the latest scoop."    I'm comin' anyway !  Semper Fi,  Bill

Clark & Colonel Bill;

Can we pitch tents in front of Old Main??? That would make it convenient for an 0600 Porch inspection the following morning, and it would save everyone a lot of $$$. Everyone would have to supply their own Fart Sack.

Regards to all,

Jer
