Dave Duthie passed away in July of 2003 of bone cancer.  Dave served in Vietnam in the Infantry.  Kevin Kissling  and I visited Dave shortly before he passed away, and we suspect the cancer was a result of his being exposed to Agent Orange.

David was a leader from the "Get Go".  Mothers' Day Corporal, Sgt, Company Cmdr, Pershing Rifles, President TKE Fraternity and other awards to long to list here. I had a "Military Wedding" and he served as one of the Sword Bearers. That was the last time I saw him, decked out in his "Dress Blues". I heard he was a Company Commander in Nam, I thought to myself, "he will serve with honor", ....that's just the way he was!  When I heard that he died of complications from "Agent Orange" I was pissed, and all these years later, still am!

Dave was a first lieutenant in Vietnam and part of the First Air Cavalry Division. He was awarded a Bronze Star, Bronze Star with V, Air Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. He was discharged in 1972.

Dave was equally successful in civilian life as he was in the military. He owned and operated the Yellow Brick Toad restaurant in Lambertville, NJ for 22 years until he closed the doors in 2000 to pursue his dream of sailing around the world. Dave and his wife sailed for a year before his illness ended his dream.
