I will break the ice on this forum and post something. About the only people from Manchester that I have kept in touch with over the years were Chris Chalkley and his wife Sally Frondorff (I probably spelled that wrong). Anyway, below is a link to their class of 1978 photo page:

Class of 1978

I know many of you had friends in the class ahead of us and you may recognize some of the faces from their 30 year reunion.

Hi Barry! It's Muffin. My brother, Bobby, graduated in 76 and was married until 2 years ago to Sally's sister. Now Bobby and Candi (from class of 78) are married! I've seen Sally and Chris over the years as well. They are great. Bobby keeps in touch with lots of his classmates and he and Candi went to her reunion in 08.

Sharon Williamson (Robertson) and I see each other a lot now that my family has moved back to VA from N. Carolina, Arkansas (my 2 boys were born there) and Georgia (my daughter is a GA Peach!) Take Care!

Hey Muffin. Chris stopped by the house a month or so ago and we spent several hours drinking beer and talking about the old times at Manchester High School. We will all be doing the same thing in September. Hopefully Deorio will bring some of his award winning home brew.

Good to see that Barry and Muffin broke the ice. Enjoyed emailing with you the other day Barry.......and a big HELLO to you Muffin!

Over the last few years myself, Mark Evans, Bob Phillips, Don Marker, Ron Marker (and his bride Lee Ann Marker (Toler), Steve Talbert, Randy Seay.............and occasionally Roy Dunham have gotten together regularly to "fellowship" over a game of poker. I always enjoy getting a few extra bucks from each of them....especially in these tough economic times...:). I hope after this reunion to enlarge the group so that more $$ may flow!!......and of course good fellowship.
By the way my hats off to Mr. Deorio and his bride for their excellent ballroom dancing!
Looking forward to the reunion!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Looking at these ancient senior class pictures has given me a laugh or two.
I see Tony Georges at work all the time, used to see Karen Crostic at work occasionally but we run in different circles now and Bill Philips around Powhatan with his wife and two boys, but I haven’t run into many of our classmates in quite awhile.
I was looking forward to catching up with everyone but it looks like I have a conflict with the UNC football schedule. I’ll be in Atlanta that weekend. I’ll have to wait for another opportunity to take Mark’s economic bail out poker money.
By the way, Mark DeOrio and his wife look pretty snazzy in their ballroom contest.

I would like to say "thanks" to Karen Stanley for making this happen. I don't know exactly what was involved in setting up this web site, but *somebody* had to scan all those photos from the yearbook. It was a big effort, and I know we all appreciate it. I will be back in Richmond in April/May and will try to track down some old classmates (I'm hoping that their parents still live in the same place they did 30 years ago). Looking forward to seeing everyone again....

I also would like to say "Thank you " Karen for taking the time to put this site together. You have done a wonderful job.

Hi Everyone!! I am glad to get this class back together again. It seems the older I get, the more I miss you all- sounds strange but very true. You are like brothers and sisters to me and I can't wait to see each one of you again. I did not do all the work on this website alone, but had tremendous help from Barry Jones, who scanned and uploaded all your Sr. Pictures!! Be sure to give him kudos for his work. Until Sept.... adieu, Karen

Hey Eric and Mark Light - I married (snagged - okay- kidnapped) a VMI man for my own - Steve graduated from First Colonial HS in VA BEACH and went to Naval Academy - then left and went to VMI - right, go figure anyway, did they think that was great at VMI - leaving the Academy for them - no, Steve says they thought - "you stupid idiot"! But anyway, he's glad to be a Keydet - like my dad, brother and 2 (former) brothers - in -law!

Glad Barry and I got this party started and by the way, I'll be the one with the Sarah Palin 2012 shirt on - truly her biggest fan! Muffin

Oh, by the way it really was kidnapped because Steve is 3 years younger. Mark Heslep also went to VMI - have ya'll heard from him - I saw that in the latest VMI quarterly that he and his dad set up a football scholarship, I think. He lives in McLean. Muffin

Way to go Barry good job. I have had fun logging on every nite to see each classmate added. Muffin, I share your enthusiasm for Sarah Palin. Okay you guys and gals get with it and post some now pics.

Regarding the yearbook photos. I scanned them in from my yearbook. You should see it. It is pretty worn out (kind of like me). The years have added spaghetti sauce, ketchup, barbecue and beer to some of the photos--unintentionally, of course. Just keep that in mind when you look at the photos. By the way, feel free to upload current photos to your profiles. Believe me, no one looks like more of a dork than me, so don't be shy. I love checking this website every night to see who has signed on, and I love looking at the photos. Even Mark Harolds Pugs!

Wazzup fellow MHS'79 classmates!
This site rocks!! Wow, has it really been 30 years? What a flash from the past reading these messages and seeing our MHS'79 and updated photos too! Great job Karen and Barry in setting up this site and scanning in our yearbook photos. We look foward to reading your messages and catching up virtually...at least until Sept., if not before!

The Class of '78 definitely has their crap together, don't they? We have GOT to put this one together. I've missed any/all past reunions because I was completely left out of the yearbook. Hardly a memory to some, unfortunately. The response is great and building. Thanks to Karen for making it a success! You're the best.

I've enjoyed reading the posted profiles. I don't have a senior pic to post - I was very distracted towards the end of 11th grade and all through 12th! I'll see if I can find something from back in the day to scan in so y'all will recognize me. I was quite the introvert in high school. I was going to say "little introvert" but then I remembered that I was always on the back row in the class pictures...so "little" probably is misleading : )

Hey Y'all. It's been a blast re-connecting with so many MHS 79ers. Muffin and I often reflect on what a nice, fun, crazy group we all were. I really am looking forward to seeing everyone. 30 years - I can't believe it!!

Unbelievable!! I often think of my "old" High School friends and wonder how everyone is doing. Along comes this website and our reunion. How cool is that?! I'll bet it was just two weeks ago I was telling my kids about Regular Ron and Digital Don. I'm cracking up and they are just staring at me...you had to be there, I guess.

I saw Bryan Carr Friday and he knows about the site. Beth George McNamee is my neighbor, so I'll tell her about it. I talked with Tony Thomas last week, I'll send him the link. And Karen & Barry: thanks for putting this together...well done!! Finally, I saw Sharon Robertson posted just before me...everyone remember her cool hats? See you soon, Eric

I was just wondering. Is "Regular Ron" still regular or has he gone digital?
