Sorry guys- just sent Mark an e-mail and we are coming. I needed to "save, beg, borrow and steal". I know that sounds lame, but that is reality these days. We will be there and will go on line and purchase the tickets and rooms this week.

Sorry for the delay.

Brian

Charles - talk about a road. This one I am on was well less traveled by me in the past - but the road is being traveled by a lot more people now.

Mark,

Thanks for the message, I was one of the ones who had been procrastinating. Bought my tickets and booked the room on line yesterday I think (or Tues). I will be there but will be late depending on the traffic from DC.

Hey gang -
I finally took the plunge and made my reservations. I can't wait to see all of you!

From reading some of the posts, I can see that the economy has been hard on some of us more than others. I would be glad to share accomodations if anyone needs a place to stay. Its already paid for, so let me know if you are interested - sort of like my "Boy's State" dorm experience.
As I work for Delta Air Lines, I might be able to help out with some "Buddy Passes", for those who might need to travel back to Richmond. While the travel is standby, let me know if it might help. Hit me up with an e-mail.

Bryan,

It’ll be great to caught-up. We can reminisce about that afternoon of our senior year when you bought that old Chevy for $50 from that farmer. Put a battery and can of STP in it, and some how got it to start. Drove it Downtown, and sold it for $300 to that other guy all on the same day. What a businessman! Drive safe and don’t worry, I’ll have a cold one waiting for you at the reunion.

SAD NEWS-AT LEAST FOR ME...

It is with deep regret that I have to report that I will not be able to make the reunion. Unfortunately, it is just not going to work out and I will need to remain in California.

I am so bummed as I was really looking forward to seeing everyone.

I paid for a ticket so if someone really wants to go and cannot afford to go, please use my ticket.

I would still like to get the memories book if possible.

I am really bummed about this but unfortunately it is how it is right now.

I hope everyone has an amazing time and I hope to be at the next reunion!

Big hugs to all,

Tricia

This was sent to me recently and I thought some of you might get a kick out of it.
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept
staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby
table. My wife asked, 'Do you know her?'
'Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend.
I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years
ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.'
'My God!' said my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating
that long?'

Muffin, Kim and Debbie,

Thank you so much for the kind words. No words could adequately describe how sad I am about missing the reunion (and I am a writer) :).

I know y'all will have a good time and I will keep you in my thoughts that weekend. I would love to hear from you! ;0)

congrats on all the prep. I know it is going to be an awesome reunion!

Yes Muffin, I will have some REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar. I hear she is not going by little pat anymore. The sound track is going to sound a lot like the Pizza Hut juke box. I remember you wrote something about Tom Petty and The Cars on the menu that was taped by the phone at the front counter. Good times. Who's gonna drive you home tonight?

Brian, Ryne, I am heartbroken, but as long as I get a pic of Ryne in that suit WITH the shoes, I'll be ok. Ryne, think Bozo or Sideshow Bob..... If it will help ticket sales, I'll promise not to talk to Ryne at all, or....pester him non stop, whatever helps.

See y'all then!

Hello All,

I have started a new blog, probably women will find it more funny but some of it guys will appreciate. It will be ongoing and it caught the attention of Lesley Seymour, the Editor in Chief of MORE magazine (a magazine for women 40+) and she suggested I post my blog there as well.

Please check it out if you get a chance and add a comment or something!

Thanks so much! I really am bummed that I cant come to the reunion but if a miracle happens and I can, I will!
I really want to be there.

Also, I just was offered a job in LA for a feature film, Chicago 8. I am going to be an extra but will be working for one month on that steady as well as doing make-up, PA work and whatever else they need plus I might end up and who knows what it will lead to.

Its a 1960's (Jackie O not Twiggy) type of film set in Chicago. I know nothing about the film but its titled Chiacago 8 so I am hoping its mob related. Should be fun!

I love all the message board stuff and the interaction on facebook! It really is cool to see everyone and I am constantly saying that the people in LA have nothing on my graduating class! Y'all are some of the most attractive people ever! And you dont have the big egos!

love ya!
Tricia

I would like to throw out a big “Happy Anniversary” to the hottest chick to ever walk the hallowed halls of Manchester High School. That chick would be Brenda Harris. 28 years ago on this day, she married a skinny, greasy haired, dork with very little profit potential (…according to her mother). What’s important is that that dork knew how to make her happy and vice versa. I try to remember that with some of the skinny, greasy haired, dorks with very little profit potential that my daughters bring home to meet me.

Good call Ryne. I think the whole evening will be enjoyable if we leave politics out of it. On the other hand, since you opened up a can of worms here let's go fishin. I don't care much for Rush Limbaugh. He is a little too much of a legend in his own mind. I don't know much about Hannity because I don't watch his show. I do have a lot of respect for Glen Beck. He doesn't miss a trick. He has exposed a lot of embarrassing moments for the whole government. I don't follow anybody blindly, but if you can tell me of one lie any of these guys have been caught telling I'll listen to what you have to say. Our whole society is corrupt. We are all responsible for our situation. We can't blame George Bush. We can't blame Barrak Obama. We are all to blame. We are to blame for what we have done and what we have failed to do. We have placed criminals in public offices and in some cases reelected them. We have sat at home in front of our TV sets and let our government run our lives in stead of burying our elected officials with mail telling them what we expect from them. If you really think Glen Beck is wrong then prove him wrong. Find a forum more public than this one and prove him wrong.

I was making a joke, Slater and I are good friends.

First, Julie--thank you so much for visiting my blog! YOur comments mean more to me than you will ever know.

second--I got a really upsetting IM from one of our fellow classmates guys and I want to share it because I dont know if its true and if it is true than maybe we can all put our heads together and figure it out.

I got an IM from Maynard Dodson that said he needed my help because he was stranded in London. It said he was mugged and left without ID or wallet. Which is a bit weird because wouldnt you already have your ticket?

Anyway, he kept asking me to send him money via Western Union and I told him I didnt have it but that he should go to the US Embassy in London and tell them whats going on and they should help. He disconnected when I said this.

My gut tells me someone hacked into his account but I am wondering if anyone has kept in touch with Maynard or if he mentioned going to London?

If its true and he is in trouble I dont want to ignore it but just wasnt sure. The only email I have is to his facebook and obviously if they hacked into it they would respond to the email as well.

Any ideas??

Tricia

Update: Maynard just posted this on facebook:

Somebody hacked my Facebook account and was asking people on my friends list to wire them $700 to London, England saying that I was stuck there. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY! I am here in Phoenix, and finally got back my account with Facebook's help.... Still puzzled over how they got access... this has never happened to me before.

Looks like the joke is on me Ryne. I know you guys are alright. I hear a lot of negative stuff about the conservatives and sometimes I just have to say something in their defense. How about if I keep my mouth shut. That may help them and boost ticket sales too. See you on the 25th.

Maynard Dodson

Yes everybody.... someone hacked my Facebook account and asked just about all of my friends on there (via chat) to wire $700 to London. I am pretty sure they were able to hack my account because I signed up for this service called Voxox where they group all your chat accounts in one place. Sounds convenient, but somebody was able to hack their system and get the user name and password for my Facebook account. If anyone ever contacts you this way and asks for money, ask them some question that only your real friend would know (i.e., what kind of car did you have in high school, or what was Mrs. Weaver's first name, etc.)

What was Ms. Weaver first name? - Mamie????
