¨    When we did the musical Damn Yankees and Earl Wiseman came out in his underwear during the locker scene. I don't recall THAT being in the script.  What a hoot! And... when Richard Dong sang the pac-man song to "You picked a  fine time to leave me, Lucille." "Wacca, wacca, wacca...etc" - Kathy Hyde

¨    TBTV class and filming epic productions such as 'Me Spanish Club Christmas Dance Massacre" (starring Jeff Gilloti and Jimmy Orr as mafia hitmen) where I believe Stephanie Troyer and her pet dog met their demise via chainsaw; and the classic "Danger is Our Business" (starring Matt Hassler and Jimmy Orr as extreme stuntmen) in a death-defying race pitting automobile versus human sneeze- Jimmy Orr

¨    Junior year, Greek Retreat with the High Challenge class, getting all bonded with John Reckling and Robert Miner and Kathy Coyle and the gang during silly interactive games. Also ... selling tickets to basketball and football games. Writing notes to Sherri Mattis during Big Al Cranston's class. Mr. Finnerty’s class. Prom with my brother (he's still traumatized). Turnabout with Dave Gleason. Mr. Scherr taking off his vest without removing his jacket.  "Mr. Bubble" on TBTV. -April Gustafson

¨    My best memory was Mr. Hesson, my English class instructor for my senior year. He would read this provocative/sexy poetry with a Swedish accent and all of us would be laughing our heads off. Then he would explain the sexual aspects or meanings to us and we would really bust up. You had to be there! Dan Ballinger

¨    We were at Homecoming our Jr. Year--I think--and we won! We ran out onto the field to congratulate the players and it started to snow. Not a huge snow, just enough to look like confetti, and then we were coming off the field and it stopped. Was a wonderful addition to a wonderful night? :)- Alice King Knievel

¨    It's funny that I am saying this but the one thing that makes me smile about high school is cheerleading. We had our ups and downs with 30 girls on the squad but we did a lot of different and exciting things. I loved cheering for football and wrestling and decorating the football players rooms. I loved going to competitions and camps to learning new routines. It was a blast for me and I'm thankful I was a part of it. - Lynn Lamm  Mosier

¨    Every crazy money-making scheme we came up with to raise money for the Commons Area (and the secret stories behind them):

1.    The World's Third Largest Garage Sale. We used an old gas station property courtesy of Wallick and Volk. I loved the name. We weren't fooling anyone: who would believe that Cheyenne could host The World's LARGEST Garage Sale? Third largest was MUCH more believable -- ha ha.

2.    Purchase a Peon Sale. In a less politically correct time this would have been called a "slave sale". Thanks to April Gustafson for coming up the great name. I always thought that it sent a lot of people to the dictionary to look up the word "peon". I was bought by Mr. Iversen who immediately set me free with no peon-like chores to do.

3.     Halloween Movie and Costume Contest. We showed the B-movie "SSSSSS" in the auditorium -- it starred Dirk Benedict from Battlestar Galactica and A-Team fame, before he got "famous". Do you remember it? It took place in a circus carnival with a mad scientist turning Dirk into a snake. While the film was running, I remember seeing two girls making out with each other (real hot and heavy stuff) in the back rows and getting thrown out by Mr. Costas. The girls, not me.

4.    Chili Dinner. This one is a bit fuzzy. Was it linked to the Purchase a Peon Sale? Anyway, the TBTV promo for this was the infamous Enjoli parody: "I can bring home the bacon..." It's funny, I don't remember the chili at all, but I remember this: to save money, we used Bill Hungate's massive stereo system (he lived across the street) as a PA system and DJed ourselves. We promptly blew the speakers by cranking it past “11”.  I think we had to replace the fuses and were good to go.

5.    Lifesavers Lollipop Sale. We were probably responsible for so many cavities we should have arranged a kick back from local dentists. Mrs. Dabney used to complain to me about how unsafe they were to eat while walking. Her fear was that some student would trip and fall face down on the stick...- Richard Choi

What is the one high school memory that makes you cringe every time you think about it?

¨    When I think about it is the pep rally during which the cheerleaders blindfolded some of our school's best athletes and told them they would be kissing an anonymous cheerleader and would then have to guess which cheerleader they had kissed. Rather than cheerleaders, the player's mothers were instead paired with their sons. I'll never forget the expressions on the faces of those players when they discovered who their true partners had been.  At the time I was sure that at least one jock would lose his lunch after having given his own mother the tongue. Its absolutely one of the most hilarious spectacles I have ever seen.  Kendall Adams

¨    Racing through the VA against Jeff Gilloti nearly every day after school.  As it turned out, the VA officials did not regard their grounds as an alternative NASCAR course. Needless to say, when I hit ice at 40+mph on a hairpin turn and wiped-out a section of saplings, they were not pleased, neither was my Dad. And making a suggestive body part out of thawed hamburger meat at McDonald's and placing the offensive creation on one of the customer tables. My boss did not find it nearly as amusing as Shad Adams and Steve Klas did. - Jimmy Orr

¨    American Lit class and the numerous impromptu essays we had to write - Kristi Kelley Hall

¨    Jimmy Orr and I did some East High Student Council update show on Q98 FM.  We basically had the station to ourselves and we did more talking, call-ins and comedy than music and East High business. One evening I showed up at the studio and was locked out of the station. It turned out that Q98 management cancelled the show because of complaints that one of the hosts used "foul language" on the air. Jimmy and me? Who could that have been? When I told Jimmy, he was walking across the street toward the studio with a newly made cassette tape in his hand. He blew up and so did the tape --he threw the tape so hard it splintered in a million pieces all over the street. The rumor was that the local TV5 sportscaster (and Central-supporter) heard Jimmy say "shit” on the previous weeks' show and called his Q98 buddies to shut us down. I never did find out what was on that tape. - Richard Choi

¨    The one that took the cake was my pitiful attempt to run for student body president, which economically taught me loads of humility in a short space of time.- April Gustafson

¨    My most embarrassing moment in high school was right outside of the guys locker room immediately following gym class. I was talking to Robin Woolridge  and Stephanie Wold. My fly was completely open on my jeans! I kept walking toward them and for some reason they kept backing up?! Jim Ditzel grabbed my arm and told me what was up. I guess it wouldn't have been so bad but I was 17 and a walking hormone if you get my drift. For the rest of that semester, I was paranoid every time I ran into Robin and Stephanie. -Dan Ballinger

¨    The accident I had at Minimart over by Central my Jr. Year. Not pretty! No one was hurt, Thank God, but it was embarrassing. - Alice King Knievel

¨    I also have to say that when the football players got tricked into kissing their mothers. I think it went way overboard. I can't remember if it was my idea but I was the one leading that pep rally that day and when I saw the look  on the faces of the football players when they took off their blindfolds... I thought to myself," This wasn't such a good idea." I hope there was no lasting damage.- Lynn Lamm Mosier
