Billy R. Abbott Jr. - 1964-1999






Billy Rae Abbott, Jr., 34, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Sept. 4 in New Mexico.

He was born October 29, 1964 in Sidney, Neb.

Mr. Abbott was the owner and operator of a cabinet woodworking company.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Abbott and Katherine Abbott both of Albuquerque; his parents, Bill and Dorothy Abbott of Cheyenne; his grandmother, Cecilia Cruz of Albuquerque; two brothers, John Abbott of Albuquerque and Michael Abbott of Denver; three sisters, Cheryl Mayfield of North Platte, Neb., Billie Jane Mallon of Cheyenne and Lori Ann Atencio of Phoenix; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Gerald Sullivan officiating.

Interment will be in Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill R. Abbott, John Abbott, Mike Abbott, Glen Mayfield, Justin R. Mayfield and John J. Mallon.

Honorary pallbearers will be R.J. Kinnersley, Todd Hoffman, Herschel Rice and Jim Lopez.

Billy used to live at the corner of Henderson and Holly Court. Near my cousin's house. He and my cousin and I used to throw the football around in the field across from his house.

We were never really close, but I remember him from my nerdy days at Carey. He always stood up for me, and if you knew me then, I was seriously nerdy.
