Stephen Peterson

Stephen W. Peterson, 42, passed away unexpectedly early New Years morning, at his home in Chandler, Arizona. He was born in Paso Robles, California on July 26, 1965. He graduated from Cheyenne, Wyoming, East High School in 1983, as editor of the school yearbook. He was very active in the Salvation Army youth group and spent many hours volunteering and helping others. This led to his commissioning as a Salvation Army Lieutenant in 1987. He met his future bride, Lori Hernandez, while attending the Salvation Army Training School. They married in 1989 and served the Salvation Army in Hawaii, and Washington until 1991. For the next 16 years he worked for an Arizona blood services company, managing mobile blood drawings around the State. Stephen is survived by his wife of nearly 19 years, Lori Hernandez Peterson, five-year-old twin daughters, Emelia Ruth and Savannah Jane; His parents Larry and Joni Peterson of Tucson; two brothers, Scott Peterson of Madison, Wisconsin and Sean Peterson of Knoxville, Tennessee; His paternal grandmother, Freda Peterson of Paso Robles, California; his maternal grandfather Stephen H. Hall of Santa Rosa, California; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Even in death, he continues to help others through the donation of his organs. Viewing will be held from 6-8 PM Saturday, January 5th, at Green Acres Mortuary at 401 North Hayden Road in Scottsdale.
