I am super excited... I found the color separations for the ROTC & Sports page of our yearbook, and a page from the Tech Prep!  All you professional printers can critique them at the Show & Tell table on Satuday!

Has anybody seen the destruction project on the Western Avenue bridge over Belmont?  Is it still ongoing or is it a factor?

09/19/16 11:28 PM #119

Per C Pearson

Westbound Belmont was open a few days ago. Its all a construction/destruction zone. I'd come to the school off south Western or if the driveway is open off Addison to the parking lot.

That is a great video and great to see Mike Goi again. He still looks the same! He's a great guy. Thanks for posting, John Simmers.

Very sad to see David Giese's name on the In Memory list. All I could find online is an entry on MooseRoots showing a David L. Giese of Chicago IL born September 5, 1958 (sounds right), date of death August 4, 1994, over 20 years ago. Any of the track guys on here know what happened? Am I misremembering or did an older brother of Dave's volunteer as an assistant track coach for a while?

Oh, and doesn't anyone from track/cross country know where Harry (MIke) Hormann is? Thanks all. See you soon!

Thanks all for posting pictures of items from those days at Lane. I am happy to see that a lot of items have been saved after 40 years and I will be looking forward to seeing everybody's collections on Saturday.

It was really sad to see classmates in the "In Memory" section, so I am very thankful to be able to reconnect with and also to really appreciate all that will be there on Saturday.

Whoever took Foundry will remember this famous saying: "Hey Slick! I can't Cope with this Drag!"

Aloha 76ers!

Kristi Adachi is representing the Hawaii contingent of Lane Tech. Sad I can't make it.

But frankly, I was so out of it in high school, I don't remember much.

Michelle, I do remember you and your great laugh!  And Grace, you are looking fabulous!

So let me know what I forgot....have a great party!

Best

Jayne it's so nice to hear from you!

Forever the style icon at Lane... I can still remember your awesome and gorgeous Glam-Rock wardrobe!  You pulled off those high-waisted pants and platforms better than anyone else!

We will miss your fabulous self on Saturday and promise to post pictures.

Aloha!

Yes, Aloha Jayne! Thanks for the compliment - YOU were always one of the most gorgeous gals at LTHS. I'm sad that you and Diane Hanamoto, my fellow Division 699 alums, aren't going to be with us. Next time!! BTW, I definitely don't remember much from high school, but am looking forward to folks reminding me tomorrow. Gosh, everyone it's TOMORROW!

BTW, answering my own earlier question, it was classmate David Giese's older brother Ray who assistant coached the track team for a while - found that he signed one of my yearbooks.

June, thanks for correcting how Glenn passed. How sad that we've lost so many classmates already.

Am I the only one who thinks many of us look better today then we did 40 years ago? Probably.

Definitely not the 70's. Does anyone have any photos from the 70's marching band. I played alto sax. We used the hand me down Concert Band uniforms - black suits. Most embarrasing experience. We dared play "Theme from Shaft" a year after everyone else played it.... and not as well!! We marched out, played it, then marched back. The large bands, marched in intricate formations while playing. They also had flag girls, drum majors, dance team, etc. Oh well. It was fun, but we were 3rd class behind Concert Band and Orchestra.

Michelle, I could nor register for the tour. Please add me to the list.  I will be there with bells on. Not literally, I left my bells in California.

John Bliss, I agree with your statement. It was the times, of course, but we definitely dressed badly, at least I did.  I don't know why anyone would want to bring back the fashions of the 70's, except to spoof. My senior picture was in the brown double knit jacket that I wore to Homecoming, my afro was past my shoulders, a la Michael Jackson. I was baby faced, i could not grown anything on my face, not even peach fuzz. Platform shoes hurt my feet, since I had fallen arches from cross country. Yikes....   I do wear afro wigs on occasion during my Toastmasters events, when we have 70's themed speech contests.

Keith, I wore a polyester baby blue not-leisure suit, with a white tie (and belt) and black, white, and blue flowered shirt. Can ya dig it?

What an awesome tour group this morning!  Anyone interested in sharing their photos should be able to upload them onto the 1976 Photo Gallery page, (top tab-left margin).  Let me know if any technical difficulties... and see ya tonight!
