Retired at 60 after dual careers. 40 years in IT and 32 years in the fire service. Concurrently not consecutively, of course! I'm still people's tech guy, and I still stop to listen every time I hear a siren. Old habits die hard. Ha. Now I race cars for fun, but no one ever asks to ride with me. Don't know why not; I keep all four tires on the ground most of the time. Ha again.
Sidebar: So far, I'm a five time cancer survivor. Poor genetics and possibly a poor career choice are to blame. It'll beat me someday I'm sure, but in the meantime I'll keep fighting and keep having fun. So get your checkups, folks. Early detection and early action can give you a second or third or fourth or fifth chance.
