Charles Chocky May

Charles E. " Chocky " May,70, Chillicothe, entered Heaven's Gate on Friday May 17, 2013 at his residence following a three year battle with Cancer. He was born Jly 20, 1942 in Chillicothe  to the late Melvin and Rena ( Canter ) May. In 1964 he married Carolyn L. Crago who preceded him in death on October 21, 2003. In May 2006 he married Deborah Sue McComis, who survives.                                   

Also surviving is his sister and brother-in-law Karen and Rick Greene, Grove City; a daughter, Marcia May Holton, Chillicothe; grandchildren Lauren, Katie, Ben and Jenna Holton; a great-grandson, Noah; and a special step-son, Terry McComis. His parents and his beloved son, Charles Marcus " Mark " May preceded him in death.

Chocky was a lifelong member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee and Deacon Teams. He was active in the Christmas and Easter Drama, the Sanctuary Choir and the Men's Sunday School Class.

He served in the U.S. Army overseas during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Army Security Agency. He was very proud to have servered his country.

He was retired from the Veterans Affair Medical Center. An excellent hunter and trapper, he had a small trading post at one time and was known as " Grandpa McCrackin". In recent years , fishing with his buddy, Roger Chaney, was a major part of his life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday in the Tabernacle Baptist Church with his friend, Rev. Steven J. Schmidt officating. Burial with Military graveside rites will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Coalton, ohio. Friends may call at the Fawcett, Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church Deacons Fund.

The most important of Chocky's life was his love for God and he had an incredible testimony to share, which he did willingly. As he always said, " God is good, all the time.
