Sharon  D.(Cousins) Stewart, age 60, of Gary, Indiana died on May 28, 2002 at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana following an extended illness..

She was born February 20,1942 in Chillicothe to the late Oather G. and Mary Ella McFarland Cousins.She graduated from Chillicothe High School, Class of 1960. On February 3, 1980 she married James Stewart and resided with himfor the past 22 years.

She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, sister and friend.During her 22 tear residency in Gary, she was employed at Walgreens where she acquired many close friends. When able she attended mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Gary.

She is survived by her loving husband, a son John O. Cousins of California; two stepdaughters Cheryl and Dorothy Stewart, and two stepsons, Darrell and Reggie Stewart, all of Kansas; a grandson, Cameron Farris, California and a brother Douglas McFarland, Santa Cruz, California. She also leaves to mourn her passing, nieces Cheryl (Sherman) Johnson, Bidwell, Ohio; Sheila ( Stanley) Woodson, EVelyn Woodson and Gertrude Hosea, all of Gary; Bertlyn ( Mark ) Harvey, Indianapolis; a nephew Ronald Swope, Gary, Indiana; an aunt Bessie Thomas, Chillicothe and cousins Daian ( Larry ) Grant; Dorothy ( Lawrence) Garnes, Patty ( Hal) Beatty, all of Chillicothe and Debbie Turner , Colimbus, Ohio.

She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Maxine Jenkins  Mathews and an uncle Robert Thomas.

A memorial service was held for her in Gary, Indiana on June 1, 2002. Complete services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday June 5th, 2002 at the Original Glorious Church with Elder Melvin Maughmer officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Haller Funeral Home.
