Reverend William “Dale” Gilbert, 83, of Chillicothe passed 1:53 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026.

     He was born July 6, 1942 in Hamilton to the late Elza and Mary Williams Gilbert.  On August 12, 1963 he married Cynthia Coffey who survives.

     Also surviving are children, Bill (Jill) Gilbert, Joseph (Lisa) Gilbert and Scott (Jessie) Gilbert; grandchildren, Madisyn, Ashley and Lucas Gilbert; sister, Cindy (Dwight) Murray.   He was predeceased by mother and step-father, Mary and Joseph LaGard; father, Elza Gilbert; step-sister, Carol and Kate Mechesney and step-brothers, Leroy, Andrew and Robert LaGard.

    Dale became an ordained pastor in 1979.  He pastored Overly Chapel, Fruit Hill, Mt. Holy and Clarksburg C.C.C.U. up and through 2000 before retiring.  In 1998 Dale retired from P.P.G.

     In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

     Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be 11 am to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
