George Branscom

George Lee Branscom, 82, of Chillicothe, died May 2, 2023, at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born February 23, 1941 in Ross Co. to the late Lee and Elizabeth Nickel Branscom. On April 15, 1994 he married Mary L. Fisher, who survives. Also surviving are this children, Tommy (Cindy), Tony (Michelle), Tim (Laura) and George (Christina) Branscom, step-children, Daryl (Kelly), Brent (Michelle), Brett (Mia), and David (Sarah) Fisher; grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, and Tyler (Kaylee) Branscom, Jolai Norman, Meadow and Matthew Branscom, Jocie, Gracie, Laynie, Abby, Ally, Gabe, Chloe, Dylan, Sam and Davey; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Ian, Jayden, Isaiah, Jayla, Poppy Sue, Kinsley, Parker, Weston, Ridge, and Slade; two sisters-in-law, Pam and Liz Branscom; special “sons” Alex (Alicia) Meranco and Kenny (Sue) Kimbler; and his best friend, Bob Lemaster. George was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy; and two brothers, Donald and Bob Branscom.

George was a 1960 graduate of Chillicothe High School and a retired mechanic from Basic Construction Materials. George was a stock race car driver and enjoyed sprint car racing. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 600 and “shopped” daily at the Corner Market.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Brett Fisher and Pastor Bruce Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Boblett Cemetery.
