I went to school at SDSU and carpooled mostly with Malinda Harding, Elsa Reyes, and Shelia Burnett. Diana Lozano didn't carpool because she didn't like to get up too early...I did an exchange program to the University of New Hampshire and then another to Seville Spain. I move to L.A. to pursue acting which mostly consisted of doing commercials and musical theater. I met and married someone more talented and connected than I and so tagged along on his career ups and downs which have kept us in LA but allowed us to travel to England, Germany, Italy and New York. I worked as an English as a Second Language teacher which I loved because ESL teachers have to be a human dictionary. I enjoyed meeting people from around the world and my performing background came in handy! Another perk - teachers are highly revered in other cultures...(I'm just saying!) Somewhere in there I finally completed my BA in English Lit and a MA in Education. About 14 years ago I began working for the Los Angels Unified School District Adult Division. I coordinate a federal program called the Workforce Investment Act Grant which promotes adult literacy. Thru my job I get to do what I love best which consists of coming up with great ideas and then telling other people what to do and how to do it. Thru work I've also been called on to advocate for education in Sacramento and Washington D.C.
Of course the crowning glory and joy of my life are my son, Cole and daughter, Isabella. Everything else pales in comparison to being their mom!
