I knew Wayne throughout high school since we were in band together.  He was very intelligent and accomplished while at CVHS.  He won the Rohr scholarship, one of the top academic awards given at CVHS.  He was also a good golfer.  Doreen Dumas referred to in Glenda's post of his obit (above) is, of course, Doreen Gurley, one of our clasmates.  I believe she and Wayne were both divorced and found each other later in life.  I think Wayne was troubled with alcoholism and that this may have contributed to his early death.  Doreen was at the 45th and I discussed Wayne with her then.  I hope she will make it to the 50th this year.

I remember Wayne as always being a very friendly guy and I can't remember him getting mad.  We played on the tennis team for three years.  In his senior year  Wayne could outlast most players.  He didn't have an overpowering play, but he would return just about anything you could hit to him.  Most of the time he would just outlast his opponents.
