IN MEMORY

John Pike

Ray Voekle went looking for his friend from high school, Johnny Pike.  He found his father and learned that Johnny passed away a few years ago.  John dropped out of high school mid senior year. He has a brother, Richard Pike.  Nothing more is known  about John.

March 9, 2015 John passed away in 1997.  An "In Memory" has been added.

From an email received from Jeremy (Jerry) Tempest Anderson

a '64 Castle Park High School.  He also attended Hilltop High.

Jerry writes: John E. Pike (also known as "Johnee") audwas known for his engaging personality and witty humor.  He moved into the district (Lauderback Elementary) during elementary school.  We were "all boy" with all the sports we could afford.

He was the cheerleader in '63.  After graduation he became involved in bull fighting lessons in Mexico.  He became so engaged in it that his entire house was decorated in matador art. The ultimate was his suit of lights. From the old  bull ring to the new bull ring by the sea, we followed the fighters, Cordobez, Cantinflas, etc.

John wasn't much for working for others, so he had a couple start-up companies of his own.  He was married twice and both times I was his Best Man.  His first wife was Gloria Marquez and they had two children, a boy and a girl.  His family and mine (my first child on the way) lived in the same house for a rather long year.

We remained friends over the years.  After not hearing from him in a while I contacted his father and learned he had died in 1997.  The world will miss his charming personality and the one who carried it.

To My Friend.

Jeremy (Jerry) Anderson
