Marjorie Kanter Delgado

I went to Ohio University for my Bachelors in Speech and Language Therapy, went off to travel Europe for a semester with the Floating campus, returned to work in Cincinnati area for a year as a Speech Therapist. Returned to Spain and Europe for another year and got hooked. Met my husband Jose Luis in Madrid. Masters in Speech Pathology at UC. Worked in Monolingual and Bilingual Speech Therapy in Ohio, Pennsylvania and mostly the Boston area where I moved into teacher training around Bilingual Special Education and the servicing of linguistic minority children. Lived a year in the Dominican Republic. In 1984, Jose Luis and I began on up to now permanent move to Spain, first in Tarifa where I began keeping journals and now for the last 15 or more years in Madrid. Have spent considerable time in Morocco. Published my first book of short literary pieces, "I displace the air as I walk" in 2004. I now focus on my writing, giving readings and creative writing workshops in Madrid and elsewhere.
