When I left Walnut Hills, I entered the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy and intended to enter the family business. However, I became interested in research and continued my education, earning a masters degree in pharmaceutical chemistry, followed by a Ph.D. in toxicology from the UC College of Medicine. I worked for nine years as a research toxicologist for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Cincinnati. I attended Chase College of Law at night while working full time during the day, and received a law degree in 1977.

In 1983, I started two private practices, one as a lawyer and the other as a consultant in forensic toxicology. Having become extremely tired of representing clients in divorces, I now focus primarily upon toxicology, providing consulting services to attorneys in criminal and civil proceedings.
