Nadelane:

Do you have any Belvoir class photos? I was not in the Kientz class group. I believe that 6th grade was Miss Jamieson.

Nadelane Joseph (Joseph)

Michael, I'm trying to find my pictures. I don't know if I have Belvoir but I'll find them and get them scanned in if I do. I was in Miss Jamison's class too.

Nadelane, do you think that little girl who made that cute pose was Judy Azoff?

The Belvoir K-6 class photos are in the Photo Album section

Bonnie,
I remember you living behind me!
I picked up a Ladies' Home Journal at a friend's house in 1971 and found "my" third-grade class picture with Mrs. Marsh at Taylor School with an article about Allison Krause. Until then, I didn't realize that she was the same Allison!
When we went to the week-overnight Red Raider school camp in fifth or sixth grade, I remember learning that Allison was the first of us all to wear a bra. (Her death was world-reknown, meanwhile that's what I remember the most.)
I know her family lived in Pittsburgh when she went to Kent, but did she go to Wiley before their move? Or did they move right after sixth grade?

Val Iberall (O'Connor)

Bill, those Belvoir pictures in Photo Album are mine, so there are other variations of Belvoir pictures still out there from classes other than mine. I don't remember how many variations there would have been, A, B, and C? Who remembers these things?

01/14/09 08:09 AM #246

Bonnie Hirsch (Lauer)

Anne

Allison left after 6th grade to move to Pittsburg and I never heard from her again. I attended Kent State and was there during the riots but never knew that she was there until, the ride home and they announced the 4 students who died in crossfire.

Val...

You're right, of course. The Oxford K-6 pix in the Photo Album section are mine, but I know there are other class pix out there. One's world back then tends to be pretty narrowly focused.

Speaking of jr. high shop class - my family actually had a retail version of that hot dog cooker that we made! And I still have the walnut book case that I made as my final project. Boy was that a mistake. I never thought about how to transport it. At the end of the school year it would not fit in my parents' station wagon. I got my neighbor and the two of us carried it the mile from school to my home.

If you go to the end of Photo Albums, I put a Memory Section there for the people who have passed in a group. For those who do not have photos, if anyone out there knows which photos are theirs in the elementary pictures I've put on so far, could you tell me which one is one of those, and I can at least put their elementary school picture in for now until another one in the future may be discovered or if anyone has a photo of any of those people, please email it to me. thanks, Val

ALLEN you should have moved it with your grandparents truck just like we did for our senior year at osu.

Val need your address again to send more northwood pictures, also could not find your profile--how come?or maybe i missed it!

01/14/09 08:10 PM #253

Val Iberall (O'Connor)

Kenny, I am on the bottom of the Classmate Profiles page under guests. And on the Home Page there is a paragraph about people emailing me their photos to upload on this site. My email address is magnumpi95@bellsouth.net. Seriously though, when I mentioned yesterday if people could point out faces in the elementary school photos of people who have passed in the memorial section, this could pertain also to people who do not have photographs in their Classmate Profiles. I could upload their elementary school photo or if anyone has photos of any of these people, email them to me. I uploaded everyone's faces onto this site that had a photo in the yearbook but over 100 people did not have their photo in the book. It would be nice to fill in the blanks.

val thanks for the info--i guess reading and comprehension along with shop were not my strong points!!

Shelley Hornik (Lloyd)

OK..the guys are having a lot of fun talking about shop...but what about home ec?? Our class at Roosevelt was the first that didn't make APRONS. We made gather skirts. I remember mine was a large yellow gingham. To be honest, I think I would have gotten more use out of an apron. But at least they were easy to transport home!!

01/14/09 10:03 PM #256

Bill Kent

Didn't the girls have to kneel in the hallway if a teacher suspected the skirt was too short? The hem of the skirt had to touch the floor.

Someone here also mentioned the display cases filled with examples of pants the guys couldn't wear. So bizarre.

Val - I believe that the Belvoir 6th grade had 5 different classes:

Miss Kientz
Miss Jamison
Mr. Greenwald
Mrs. Disadorio (sp?)
Can't recall that last teacher's name.

I am searching for the Jamison class photo and the prior year's photos for that "cohort".

Our office at work has somewhat of a dress code...reminds me of being in high school. There were some ladies that were sent home from work by our HR Dept if their skirts were too short or for wearing a culotte skirt. At least in the summer we are allowed to wear sandals without stockings. (we have temperatures over 100degrees in Arizona). We also get to dress down on payday Fridays or if we donate to United Way, every Friday. Jeans & T-shirts,but they must not have offensive sayings on the shirt. Of course we are a public utility company and have an image to uphold!
