I want to thank you for all the birthday well wishes. Between the message forum, CHHS emails, Facebook, emails, and calls I felt reeeeeal good! Thanks for all the warm and fuzzies!
I purposely kept my birthday this year, low key. I celebrated last year for a week with tons of lunches and dinners out with different friends. I also gained weight from those celebrations. So, this year that was one reason. Although, I did go up to Los Angeles last weekend and had a fun time.
Apparently on some level I must have known that I needed to stay home a lot this week, as I would have a slab leak and have my home literally torn up to replumb! In California we have no basements. During the 60s - 80s builders would install plumbing under the concrete slab/foundation which is your floor! So you can't just fix where the actual leak is so they fix it by rerouting the pipes into the walls. My furnace also went out the exact same day (Monday)...gas leak...pilot control valve needs replacing. Although we don't have freezing temps, at low 50s it's still cold, so I had to borrow my friend's portable heater until I get the furnace fixed!
What a birthday week!! The strange thing is I felt great! Almost as if I were taking Proszac (although I'm not) or some drug to detach a bit! Many times in the past I would freak over these kinds of things. But I'm holding up quite well. The work should be complete by around Thursday of next week! So for those of you who kindly gave me a shout out of some kind, you have no idea how well received it was!!
