Sad to see the Plain Dealer death notice for Eugene Myslenski who died April 25th at age 95.

WOW, Mr. Myslenski was a good and kind man as I remember him.  I also remember when he retired as we exited the school.  May he rest in peace!!

The Cleveland sports scene is exciting again....not only OUR TRIBE, but Peyton Hillis on Letterman counting the top 10 perks of being named the cover guy.....#1 perk...helps Cleveland forget LeBron!

Getting back to Heights, anyone have any funny stories they want to share. My son, Kevin, burned his finger in seventh grade shop class the other day, which reminded me of an incident I had in 12th. grade chemistry class. While working with a hot fire glowing glass flask, during an experiment, Mr. Burger asked me to give him the flask, which I did, in his bare hand. Needless to say, after burning his hand, he gave me a dirty look which I will never forget. Sorry Mr. Burger. It's taken me over 40 years to apologize to him.

Hope everyone still in the Cleveland area fared OK from all the storms of yesterday.  There was severe flooding in some areas of Cleveland, knee deep!  Hope no one had any damage!

There has been a number of renditions and/or recordings starting with Louis Armstrong original and a number of great recordings artists that covered this song. All were magical and great in there own creative ways. However this version is special to me ! In my business you look from with-in the heart and is it truly a real performance ..He "Israel" performed this recording prior to his death and for his kids to remember him after he passed on."Look to the Sky and in the Rainbow" thats where you will find me ...(his message to his family). I will always be watching over you from above. To me this version is the version of true emotion, from the soul, spiritual magic and done from pure feelings of true love & heart ! Enjoy ! A must to Share ! This video can "get to your heart"! Thats what the word ...REAL is to MUSIC in our lives" !

 Have a wonderful weekend !

I saw this in the Plain Dealer last week. For those of you who went to Wiley and Heights, you may remember Ms. Lillian  Brinnon, one of the librarians. She passed away May 5 at the Cleveland Clinic at age 88.  She donated her body for medical research. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at First Unitarian Church, 21600 Shaker Blvd., Shaker Heights.

Hi fellow '69 alums!

I saw a great movie in Seattle last week: "Forks Over Knives" that I see is opening at the Cedar Lee Theater (2163 Lee Road) on May 27th. FOK features as they put it: "Dr. Esselstyn, a top surgeon and head of the Breast Cancer Task Force at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, found that many of the diseases he routinely treated were virtually unknown in parts of the world where animal-based foods were rarely consumed."

I wouldn't call this film a great cinematic experience but it is a fantastic learning experience with compelling information that is rarely compiled in such a comprehensive and engaging fashion.

I was inspired by the film and am excited to see that it is opening in Cleveland soon. (But of course...it's the Cleveland Clinic!)

If you see it, let me know what you think, okay?

Sincerely,

Pamela (Elton) Sackett

sorry to hear about the pasing of David--seems like just yesterday at OSU Dave's lottery number was # 1 !    I don't know if  he joined the merchant marine    but after that event David dissapperared!    Last weekend we spent it in DC with the AIPAC lobbying group--very interesting and informative, especially having to sit through the speech of our President last sunday! It is all about education and teaching our children how important the state of Israel and it's existence is so vital to the US and to all Jews worldwide!

I will be in Cleveland from June 18 to the afternoon of June 22 and would love to see some of you. I'm arriving at 7:30 a.m. (yikes) on Saturday and could meet for breakfast on the east side sometime about 9:30 ish. I don't think I have plans on Monday night either. Sat night is a graduation event and Sunday is Father's Day. Anybody available?

Shelley, I could meet you Monday for lunch or dinner.
