Sandra Neufeld (Ostrach)
Well, it's taken me most of the evening to read through this forum which Louie Berman told me about but I didn't bother to open until tonight. Shouts out to all I've talked to lately!
Yes, Allison Krause was in our girl scout troop at Taylor. Maxine Arbitman's, Judy Posner's and my mom were the leaders. I was friends with Allison at Kent, she lived upstairs in the dorm. Kent is still a vibrant part of history; when Lill's AP US History teacher found out I'd been there, he asked me to be a guest speaker for the day.
The easiest way to make coconut bars is to make the chocolate cake but bake it in mini muffin pans. Dip the mini muffins in Hershey's syrup from the can (the bottle is too thin) then roll in coconut. The key is to let them sit out overnight uncovered; the chocolate gets tacky and that's what keeps the cake moist. They freeze really well. I usually make them twice a year, on Valentine's Day and on Louie's (my Louie, Ostrach)birthday. I got the recipe from Cindy Lederer's friend Cheri-they were in a class after ours.
My favorites were the icebox cookies at Hts. Remember them with orange bars?
Forgot to tell you all in the profile, when I taught in Geauga county, Mr. Fusco was my principal.
This website has definitely been a lot of fun so far, but how do you guys get away with getting on at work during the day? I'm not so lucky.....
a big thank you to all the committee for all the work you've put in, and yes-you did have the date before Shaker set theirs, but they aren't changing. Besides Suzy Klein Kaufman and me, did any other Tiger from our class marry a red raider?
