Bonnie,

I also went to Hazeldell, moved to Cleve.Hts in 6th grade. I lived on Eddy Rd and would go to the Arlington library. I remember you from kindergarten, ponytail and all! Would be nice to see if anyone else from our class went there. I was at Oxford and then Monticello.

I just separated the K-12th photos (School Years K-12 Page) from the reunion pictures and anything else since high school (Photo Albums Page). I am in the process of putting up family portraits on the Photo Albums page so if you haven't done so, update your profiles.

Speaking of strolling down memory lane do you remember the high school band "The Hopeless Ones"?

Sandra Neufeld (Ostrach)

Well, it's taken me most of the evening to read through this forum which Louie Berman told me about but I didn't bother to open until tonight. Shouts out to all I've talked to lately!

Yes, Allison Krause was in our girl scout troop at Taylor. Maxine Arbitman's, Judy Posner's and my mom were the leaders. I was friends with Allison at Kent, she lived upstairs in the dorm. Kent is still a vibrant part of history; when Lill's AP US History teacher found out I'd been there, he asked me to be a guest speaker for the day.

The easiest way to make coconut bars is to make the chocolate cake but bake it in mini muffin pans. Dip the mini muffins in Hershey's syrup from the can (the bottle is too thin) then roll in coconut. The key is to let them sit out overnight uncovered; the chocolate gets tacky and that's what keeps the cake moist. They freeze really well. I usually make them twice a year, on Valentine's Day and on Louie's (my Louie, Ostrach)birthday. I got the recipe from Cindy Lederer's friend Cheri-they were in a class after ours.

My favorites were the icebox cookies at Hts. Remember them with orange bars?

Forgot to tell you all in the profile, when I taught in Geauga county, Mr. Fusco was my principal.

This website has definitely been a lot of fun so far, but how do you guys get away with getting on at work during the day? I'm not so lucky.....

a big thank you to all the committee for all the work you've put in, and yes-you did have the date before Shaker set theirs, but they aren't changing. Besides Suzy Klein Kaufman and me, did any other Tiger from our class marry a red raider?

Sandra N...
I called Mr Fusco last year.... He sounded the same... He was my favorite teacher at Roosevelt even if I was a lousy artest and speller.... I took 9 grade art insted of science (can you believe that was a choice???) because of a rotten teacher in 8 grade...
One request for the site.... Spel check????

hi, Steven. I'd read that you spoke to him, he retired before my last year at Berkshire and I've lost contact with him. I'm glad he sounded the same.

I need to go through my cedar chest to see if I have a few of the missing elementary school pictures. I think Val may have been given the wrong names on some of the people.

Val, tremendous job on the photos....but how come you didn't retouch? :)

later, all. San-Dee

Sandee...are you saying that Shaker is having their reunion the same night as ours? What is so special about that date October 17th? I've been wondering all along just why it was picked at all. I'm so surprised to hear another school picked it too. Does this mean you and Louie O. will multitask and come to BOTH reunions...? Aw come on!!

03/18/09 08:24 PM #868

Sandra Neufeld (Ostrach)

hi, Shelley, yes-Louie got an email from Nancy Rose that she had just heard the date, then I emailed Jim to ask if he knew about it, and he said he'd gotten a phone call from Suzy Klein Kaufman. Ellen Ratner then emailed Louie to see if he would help, his response was basically no, and why did they pick that date when Hts had already announced theirs, and she glossed over that but still wanted to know if he was coming.....unbelievable!

So, Beachwood, too. Maybe the planners are figuring it's an easy way to get everyone together. I wonder if we're going to get visiting privileges at the other parties...

San-dee,
Do you remember when we changed the spelling of our names because there were three Sandy's in our class. I've kept my spelling throughtout the years and I'm glad to see that you did as well.

"I think Val may have been given the wrong names on some of the people." Why don't you mention the name, school and grade on the message boards of who you think is misnamed and maybe some of us can help in figuring out who's who.
