That's right Joyce they are shrimp chips . I 'm surprised no one knew that . I actually worked at Davis bakery (before woolworths ) and those old ladies made me cry everyday . My stomping grounds ? Pepper pot on Coventry . Paul would park his car at my house and we would walk up there all the time . Was
food really as good as we remember or was it good because we were young and STARVING ? Joyce do you remember when Gracia and I cut school ,went to your house and we ordered all that chicken delite. Of course we got caught and cancelled it all. They had a FIT. Matava gave me & gracia a million detentions.... again !

Joel and Louie:
As Joannie Mitchell sang; "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot" The price of progress.

Out of towners:
1) I went to googlemaps.com and "drove" through all of the old Cleveland neighborhoods last weekend. They have recent pictures and once you key in to an address you can move the arrows on a street and stay on it or go down the next intersection. It was really great "Next best thing to being there".
2.) Expedia.com has an airfare sale right now. I bought my roundtrip non-refundable nonstop air on continental for $303.00. Expedia also offered a cancellation refund option for $18.00. Cheaper than getting refundable tickets initially.

Hi,

Heck no...no such thing as SHRIMP chips here, only chips of the cow and bull kind used in tossing competitions. YUCK!! You can take the girl out of the city but you can't take the city out of the girl
Maybe when I am in Cleveland this summer, I can find some REAL shrimp chips!!What do you think Sandy? Are you up for greasy Chinese food? As for Coventry, one of my old favs has been and still is Tommy's. High Tide Rock Bottom was another store I really liked. Bought a pair of Birks last summer and will visit the area this July as I have every time I am in Clevland. There is something there that feels and still lives on!!

Hey Louie, Louie...been to Coventry lately? You can join Sandy, Gracia and myself for a visit to the past!! Actually, we are also going 'down the hill, up the hill and Coventry' and maybe in the speeding bumper car Sandy bought from Euclid Beach that she still uses!!

Tommy is a Heights grad.... Still one of the Menchs (good souls) in the world.... HO WAHS (SPl) at La Place still serves shimp chips (crackers)with soup.... I have made them years ago... You can buy them online and fry them yourselfs.... They puff up very fast..... (they are not the shrimp flavor chips you see )

Good to see such a positive reaction to the meeting idea... Can we get a consensus as to lunch or supper?

Sue Bruder (Wold)

Scott, thats a great idea., for lunch. We should do it when all the school teachers are off for the summer like JUne. I bet we will have a good attendence. We could even do it in the backroom of Corky and Lennys.
Let us know

Why is Louie so quiet these days?

AND,

I am curious about some of those old teachers too. Does anyone know anything about any of them? I only know Norma Smith, Unit B Guidance Counselor died in 1988 of breast cancer.

I would love to join for lunch any day after June 5th - Cleveland Heights schools are closed for the summer!! Yeah for summer vacation. Especially since Monday is the
first day of the Ohio Achievement Tests for elementary. We should be glad not to be students today, they have 2 1/2 hour tests for reading, math, writing and science and social studies for certain grades.Geraci's
or Tommy's on Coventry would be great places for lunch. Not too many places are left that everyone would remember. But for a great corned beef sandwich, Slyman's in downtown is still good.

For those of you who remember Mr. Bellin from Wiley, he is still around and is a docent at the Maltz Museum. After he retired from Cleveland Heights he went to Beachwood High School as a councelor and was also my daughter's teacher at Park Synagogue and always remembered me from Wiley. Marcia Masters Alperin also worked with him there until he retired again.

Our unit B principal Paul Wisely from Heights is still around and active in the teacher's credit union. I have also given a list to the teacher's union teachers who were at Heights our senior year and they are checking out who is still alive and around. More on that later.

My Mother is at Menorah Park where they have a computer lab with 20 pcs.... I was showing her facebook where I posted some slides my brother scanned and sent me... Her remark was HOW??? I wonder what we could have done with this in school..... Working with computers from the time of a intro class during the summer at Roosevelt to today when my cellphone is more powerful by thousands than the first computer I touch, I wonder.....
