Reunion committee........I know you have heard this many times before...but you can never get too much positive feedback.....I was contacted by someone from Shaker 69-as I've mentioned, I was a miserable grad-asking me to fill out my profile etc. She had seen our website and was amazed by it. I got on their website and its like comparing a hamburger to a juicy steak!

Cleveland has done it again. We have traded away our Cy young winner 2 years in a row. plus a total of 6 players of a 25 man roster. What a pathetic city we have for sports.Anyone whom likes baseball it is such a disappointment. Maybe we will have to focus on basketball once again.Next we will probably loose Lebron.

Well Sue, Boston isn't much better. They won the world series and traded away a bunch of the players that made that happen. Now David Ortiz is in the news for testing positive for drugs. If it isn't one thing, it's another.

I was not close to the only grandmother that I had. The sad part of being a grandmother, none of them live here in Orlando.

Steven,

Your comment about your grandmother using 'blue' in her hair made me chuckle. My grandmother's afforded me a few laughs to. One such memory was my mother's mother being in Cleveland from Columbus for my brother's graduation from Hts. We were all getting ready to go when my grandmother was checking herself out in the mirror. Before any of us could say anything, she opened the closet door and took out furniture polish and started to spray it on her hair thinking it was hairspray !! We were all laughing and couldn't even tell her before she was done. All we could smell that night was the scent of lemon pledge. Bless her heart!! She also was a great cook, seamstress and of course a great bubbie!!

and by the way....you were right Steven, your grandmother was way before her time with the punk look and it lives on in the hundreds of blue heads that live in south Florida!!

Beth
how old do you need to be to be a blue hair

08/04/09 10:20 AM #2374

Joyce Shrallow (Presser)

Heres a story that has nothing to do with blue hair but does have something in common with using the wrong thing...in high school i was getting ready for a date and was very excited...i was spending ALL DAY getting beautiful...it takes a long time...and i went into the kitchen and was looking under the sink for god knows what...and i found a bottle labeled Bonnie Bell skin freshener. Not being overly smart ( I would like to think I've improved alot) I used it on my face and after awhile it started burning and my skin looked HORRIBLE! I called my mother at work crying and she said "you @*&%# that was a sample of WAX REMOVER!

It is interesting that alot of us come from families where the grandparents were the ones to come to this country from Europe....With different foods and the like...

Joyce - I love your story. I can relate to trying to make yourself (myself) beautiful the whole day. But what I really want to know is - did you have to cancel the date???

08/04/09 11:42 AM #2378

Joyce Shrallow (Presser)

I not only went, we dated for awhile so I guess I did a pretty good job concealing it!

Thats great Joyce, maybe I should try it. By the way, I have another story. My coworker just told me that when she was in high school, her mother washed her bra along with fiberglass curtains. Needless to say, she was itching the whole day!!!!
