Neva Jo Gambrell, 71, of Abilene, died Saturday, February 8, 2025, at an Abilene hospital.  No services are planned at this time.

Neva was born December 21, 1956, in Baird, Texas, to Wilbur Dawson “Nig” Warren and Joanna Bonnie Lovinggood Warren.  She was a 1974 graduate of Clyde High School and lived most of her life in the Abilene area.  Neva was a veteran of the US Air Force, then worked for 24 years as civilian personnel for Dyess Air Force Base as an awards coordinator.

Neva is survived by her son, Jason Gambrell of Abilene; her daughter, Melanie Bertholf of Abilene; one brother, Kenneth Warren of Bryan; three sisters, Belinda Dickey of Waco, Paula Wilson of Belton and Mary Warren of Bowie; four grandchildren, Krystopher Bertholf of Abilene, Justin Johnson of Ballinger, Sereya Gambrell of Huntsville and Brianna Haynes of Arlington; and three great-grandchildren, Landon Rowton, Kayden Bertholf and Makhari Haynes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Warren; and her grandson, Cody Hernandez.
