Robin & TM--congrats on the engagement, my best to both of you and you two make a cute couple...
Glad to hear that, some of you had a great time at the party on Sat and Sun...sounds like fun...
Becky--You are right and the "Stimulus Package" is being signed today. Gov Arnold of CA, Gov Crist of FL and several others of that side are all for it to "help" them dig their states out of a hole. I suppose the people of CA will get IOU's since, that state is going bankrupt. I understand that, the entire bill is close to 800 billion dollars so, yeah, who is going to pay for that in the end? You, your children, your grandchildren and theirs, etc. I also noticed that close to 50 billion will go to Wall Street (again) to "rescue" and begin halting mortgage foreclosures. What happened w/ the last money they were given on a silver platter? I only hope that, helps your business in someway, Becky but, I am not so trusting w/ this amount of money in "their" hands. More billions are being given to private business, as you mentioned, GM gets another 9 billion, Chrysler gets another 4 billion, etc. Throwing money away, literally to once "private" business' that, have no right to receive that amount of "our" money. There is a LOT more in that bill than any of us can ever figure out, as it is deep in bureaucratic mumble-jumble. Many projects that were already in progress, were added to this package so, I am not so understanding of that, when education, bridges, roads and infrastructures of all cities and areas are in need of this and consistantly to keep those from crumbling around us..hmm..
With that being said, there is also the "Fairness Doctrine" which is actually the
"Censorship Doctrine" is again being discussed for passing and/or updating. Nothing should Worry People More than, the Government (or Anyone!?) toying w/ the idea of limiting Free Speech.
We cannot allow advocates of Big Government to shut-down political Free Speech "they" disagree with. It is Un-American and Unacceptable...The End.
