COLONIE - Amy Christina Martinez, 42, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Amy was born in Niskayuna and is the loving daughter of Thomas J. and Sharon A. (White) Martinez of Colonie. She is a graduate of Colonie Central High School and received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Albany in criminal justice.
Amy was employed by Avila Retirement Center in Albany. The memories of Amy's smile and laughter will be cherished by those who called her daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and friend. Amy had an extended family of friends from every walk of life and was always willing to lend a helping hand to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Amy is the sister of Anda (Michael) Reinisch of Selkirk, Pepita R. Martinez of Colonie, and the late Tonya Marie Martinez-Hilton; special sister to Wendy (Billy) Blanchard of Schenectady; aunt of Evan, Conor and Emma; niece of Lena Clark, E.H. (Jean) White Sr., Ethel (Frank) Dunks, and Michael White and many loving cousins.
A celebration of Amy's life will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. All are welcome. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312 in memory of Amy.
